Raising Stats - What am I mising here?

I understand that the stats cap on this server is 300 (without any scroll mod).
I noticed that I had not had any gain in quite some time. At that time my stats total was 244 (123 Str, 50 Dex, 71 Int).
I set Int to decrease and got a dex gain almost immediately. With Int marked down my dex is now slowly increasing.
My stats are now 124 STR, 55 Dex and 65 Int.
Why is my cap seemingly set at 244?
I am unable to raise a stat without having one set to decrease.

weird. then again i did mine while i slept. try essences that might help make things go a little faster.

before you lower your int way down have you trained all mana based skills? magery/necro/ninjitsu/bushido/spirit speak?

I'd be happy just to see the stats total hit 245 at this stage.

Remember, you only have a CHANCE to get one stat gain per 15 real life minutes. Take off all your armor (throw on a robe), grab a training weapon, and have at the trainer overnight while you sleep. Should see an improvement in the morning. Or, try death. Sometimes stuff gets stuck, and a good ole corpse retrieval is just the thing to fix it

Or try macroing music overnight, that should work too i would think.

And eat of course, skills raise faster if you eat and i assume stats do too.
