how about posting the time you actually intend on holding the auction istead of 2 hours off so as not to totally screw people that have been waiting and farming for 2 weeks to buy 1 freaken item

Well, we try our best, but there's no perfect way of informing people. We had announcements on our frontpage, but it turned out that a part of the population doesn't go to the website very often. So we put it on towncriers and announce in the public chat the days before the auction. I'm sorry you missed it, but don't worry, there will be other auctions too. You still have your gold and i guess if you farm some more you'll be able to buy even more things next time.

The time was posted on the town criers as of 5am Shard Time today. It was on the town criers until 1am Shard time.
Today, I was a witness to you walking up to a town crier and saying "News" and then hearing the broadcasted message. Not long after, you started to approach everyone, very negatively in public chat, about the time the auction would begin.
1. You can see shard time at ANY time by simply typing [time.
2. You can very quickly look at your own computer clock to figure out the time difference, whereby calculating when you should arrive for an auction. It is really quite simple.
3. You can refrain from disrupting an auction with such shenanigans. Such behavior will not be tolerated from me. Your actions were entirely uncivilized and unacceptable. I am very disappointed. You were extremely disrespectful to the shard, your shard mates and of course, the staff.
Apologies will be awaited upon your next login.

yeah apperently i was the only one who has something to do and was onyl intending to play at the time of the auction and asked repeatedly what time 2 AM server time really was and it was said numerous times that it was +1 GMT (10pm EST) so whoever answered obviously didnt know what time they where really telling me OR it was listed wrong....and why the hell would you list it as server time which is CET.....only like 16 nations use most use the + or - GMT makes things simple.........not even time zone converters know CET its a fake time zone
day later im still really mad that this stupid BS cost me my bio pet that ive been busting my ass for 3 weeks to get....
and the sheer callused lack of sympathy is astounding.....just shows people are out for themselves and there own greed.....i dont need to play with gamers that have no sympathy whatsover for there fellow gamer, i help out to many noobies on the server to be spit and shit on by everyone that thinks there better then me....that includes staff that apperently care little about the people on there server

I'm from CET and since I didn't know what PST MST CST and EST mean, i opened google and found out.
CET = GMT+1 = UTC+1
UTC is the same as GMT

CET is 6 hours ahead of EST, except for a week or two around daylight changes since different countries switch at different times. If it's 2AM CET, it's 8PM in EST the previous day. If it's 3PM in Berlin, it's 9AM in New York.
Othervise, if it says 2AM shard time, you could have typed [time (i try to advertise that function) and calculate how many hours ahead or behind you are. I still don't know how come this is the first such incident with timing i recall. The only one, which was a small fraction of the commotion of this one, was when we postponed an auction 1 hour later 12 hours before.
If you post any further replies, at least make yourself more understandable and without curse words. I think you shouldn't only apologize to the staff, but to the players as well who had the auction event disturbed because of your complaints. If that can't work then I don't think this is the right shard for you.

if CET is GMT+1 then the auction was listed on the town crier as 2am server time CET (server is a slocik server makes sense) anyhow 2am server time is 10pm EST (easter standard time) i was at the auction area at like 8:30-8:40 making me not wrong about the time.......
i use [time regularly and used it last night to get the time......the wrong time apperently

Then the conversion site must be wrong, because i do alot of GMT/EST conversions in a day, since i was 10 years old, and i know that you need to make it 6 hours earlyer, not just 4. 2AM shard time is 8PM EST, 5PM PST.

The calculations aren't difficult, a 2 second google search will give you time zone listings. Things have been done like this for 2 years, it isn't new. The calendar/time function in windows even lists countries.cities when you pick what time zone it's set to.
The US and Europe both use daylight savings time.
Regardless, there's no excuse for acting like a dick about it. Missing an auction isn't the end of the world. Hell I've dozed off in my chair and missed several auctions I intended on going to, oh well.
