Frozen Bees

Post by Ironbender »

I started mentioning this in the Spring Quest Topic, since I noticed it happened about the time that quest started. But since I don't want to flood that topic with discussion about something that might not be related, I choose to start a new topic.

I have noticed that since Yesterday my Beehives have not reset for their daily care. If anyone else is having this same issue, please post here. Once more information is giving to the GMs I'm sure they will be better suited to track down the problem and implement a fix.

So Info I've noticed. Generally my Bees will reset for their daily care around (EST) 8pm-9pm. I do them before I go to bed for the night. Last night I stayed up till 10pm waiting for them to reset, to no avail.

Thinking it might be just a delay due to the introduction of new content that day, I went to bed with the thought... "Oh, I'll just do them first thing in the morning."

Here it is now 9am, and still my bees have not reset. I'm no longer convinced that it was simply a slight delay.

Please post your findings... if any. Thank you.

Same. My bees usually reset around noon or so EST. They still have the same potions I put on them 2 days ago (Tuesday) which haven't been consumed yet.

Now I see why my bees are not dying even though I forgot to add potions for 2 days. Good timing I guess.

Similar problem and similar time, supposed to reset around 9:30 PM EST and nothing last night and today. Also if it is any help I have fairly new hives (2 days old). I doubt that narrows anything down but the problem is applying to all stages of the bee process. I guess that could be helpful info... kinda haha

Just a quick FYI, if you have "too many" bee hives, they will get an epidemic and there's a fair chance that most of them will not produce wax/honey, or grow in population. As for population, keep in mind that 100k is the limit, so don't worry if they get stuck at that number. They will however still consume resources. There's no calculated "optimum number of hives", but considering the costs and yield, it should be somewhere around 20-30. Having 100 hives is not a really good idea, you'll spend a lot to keep them up and only a few will produce.

This answer is for those who's bees do consume potions, but do not yield any wax/honey or grow.
Seeing from the replies here, I think there's still an underlying issue that may make some bee hives or hives of some players not doing their thing... but please keep in mind, if the beehive isn't working as you expect, it might not be a bug.

My bees normally produce just fine, but have not needed new potions or aged in the last 2 days now.

Thank you for looking into it.

Another with frozen bees here (and only 4 hives in operation)- no resources consumed or produced in the last two days.

I'm having the same issue. My hives (22 of them) usually update around 9-10PM CST. I take care of them the next day at 5:15PM CST or so - as soon as I get home from work. The hives updated normally until the Wednesday night update, then they seemed to freeze. I put potions on them Wednesday night, and those potions are still there waiting to be consumed as of 5:30PM CST on Friday, April 26. The hives are still thriving and showing 100k bees, but they won't consume potions or produce resources. I know the code was changed so that the home owner where the bees are located is the only person that they will produce for, and I am using the owner of the home (Primal Scream) to take care of them. I am also not using a script to maintain or harvest the hives, in case it was changed to prevent macroing.
