Question!!

Found a Kryss i liked for Fester.. good stats, tested it mining, swings fine.. so I bought the appearance change deed to make it LOOK like a pickaxe.. (All i want is a good wep that looks like a pick!!!!) and now I cant mine with it equipped.. I THINK, its because the appearance change also changed the name, which i did not expect... it says appearance change not name change
My question is this...
HOW.. do I get a stinking weapon that LOOKS like a pickaxe that will NOT mess up EasyUO????

I tried to Smithers protector, and that will not work either.. So, now I have spent 100ED on something totally useless.. Hope someone has an option because I Like to mine in character and Fester hates mining with his fingernails.

I just realized it also changed the specials i thought it was an APPEARANCE deed?

Changes the appearance of item to that of an item that fits in the same slot.

Thats the entire problem.. if ALL it did was change the appearance, I'd have been ecstatically happy, but it changed name and specials too.. If it said it did this in the wiki, I would never have wasted my ED on it.. It took me MONTHS of mining to save up for the Ed to change it, and it was all a waste of time.. ONE extra sentence in the Wiki would have saved me a LOT of wasted effort and time. The Description is misleading and needs to be changed so no one else wastes their time and money.. I now have a 5 mil pickaxe that cant be used because a simple description wasnt correctly stated.. thanks a lot...

I actually dont want a refund +Nyx. Just wanted to look the part of the cantankerous old miner with a pickaxe and lantern.
a [set itemid 0xE86 or 0xE85 (pickaxe) was what I expected from the deed, and having relaxed a bit over coffee this morning I am wondering if that would have even worked. I THINK it would have, because I can mine with the Kryss equipped.. however, if the EasyUO script DOES use item ID to find the Pickaxe it wouldn't matter.. I am trying to look into it and see how it does work.. if it finds the name, then i can possibly use a name change deed? to change that and be good (for another 50 ED) If however it finds the ID then I am going to be out of luck without making changes to EasyUO
I intended t buy more ED to make a shield look like a lantern, (same slot) even if the lantern didnt light, so long as it looked like a lantern.. but if the Pickaxe wont work I wont waste any more ED on looks. I'll chalk it up to a learning experience.
Will attempt to decipher the EasyUO script and see how it finds digging tools. I may even be able to remove pickaxe all together since I use a shovel which i believe is item ID 0xF39..
Once frustration wears off I can keep working on other options.. I know this is a very minor thing to most, but is important to me. TY for your help and time.

that is encouraging!! I dont have a problem mining for months to save up to buy ED as long as the time isn't entirely wasted if i can figure out how to make the Pick work i will begin working toward the lantern goal!!
I posted in the coding section for those of you who have EasyUO knowledge, would appreciate feedback!!! thanks! And thanks for letting me know on the lantern Yoda!!

well, Ilsanor solved my problem with not being able to mine with my appearance changed Pick, and it is now working splendidly, so its time to try the lantern. Thanks everyone for assisting!!!

Just for reference in the future, anyone else wanting to convert a lantern.. it does NOT work.. yes, it becomes a lantern, but it will NOT light up.. so your basically carrying around a burnt out lantern and look like an idiot that forgot to add fuel or a new wick....

not quite correct, if you page a gm they can light your lantern for you, I carry around a candle.. very much the same idea entirely and it is indeed lit up, dramoor cornbread and luxe have lit lanterns.. just page a gm and they can fix it

That is semi correct too. However.....If you Re-layer your item into a lantern and then page to have it "turned on" You will be charged 100 ed or a Item appearance change deed to have turned on. This is because in their eyes. You have had the item as a lantern turned off for months before realizing it can be turned on. And +Colibri thinks if you had it that long that way or even more than a day. You got what you had. The best way would be to get it Re-layered by staff and turned on at the same time. So they use the deed and turn it on for you.

There's not enough info in the wiki about this. Unfortunately this isn't something many people have the knowledge of to post in the wiki about. Poo. The lesson here though is.. nothing. But I still say .. Less vanity, more action. I have my hopes up for this world

Its a good world Agony, you just have to be careful about descriptions.
Its a bit tough getting started, but once you DO finally start rolling, money is easy to make.. its sort of a snowball effect.. the better you get the harder you roll
Minor things that irritate me dont irritate the normal players, just because I am a bit wierd.. I LIKE to mine, which most folks dont, unfortunately.. mining is pretty much useless on Exc except to get Plat and Plat Granite, Plat runics etc.. Everyone wants the runics, but ores do not rotate.. so EVERYONE knows at least a few spots to dig platinum and get their supply, so no point in hoping to make a living on it.
Imps have sucked the life out of breeding, which was the other thing I enjoyed.. so am left with little to keep going or coming back... Having said that...
if your not into those two things, you will find a home here that IS unmatched by any other shard available!!!! Staff is great, owner is great, and most of the players are great.. you need help, just ask and you will have people helping you, so long as your not constantly begging, most folks here will go out of their way to save your behind in a bad situation.

No, colibri wont waste time to go look. He will assume its old, and charge you the extra eds. You must page to have the re-layer made by staff.
