Diseased Gorilla Hunting Event
Re: Diseased Gorilla Hunting Event
I'm not sure why it matters what gear you have on.. They die in one shot with the provided gear, so it wouldn't be much different. Only difference I can see is you get to look how you want and would be able to have a ranged weapon. No big deal. If you don't like it, don't participate
Re: Diseased Gorilla Hunting Event
Can I suggest you move the trash bin away from the suit up zone? not only did it confuse me for a second prior to exploring, but others have asked if that is the box you're meant to be dropping the gorillas in. =D
Aryanna, The event was pretty much made so all that gear you worked so hard to get doesn't give you a silly edge over other players, especially incredibly new people. Would hardly be fun to see peeps strutting about with blaze of deaths killing a screen at a time
I believe stripping armour and weps should be done more often for events. Granted this one in itself wasn't challenging but it would be good to see things like the halloween dungeon where armor/weps were stripped and supplied with other stuff.

Re: Diseased Gorilla Hunting Event
yesterday i took a bag and put gorrillas in it, today when i login its gone.
Re: Diseased Gorilla Hunting Event
There was a coding error with the bags that caused them to decay after 1 day, instead of 10 days. So for now, the event is closed, until it gets fixed.
I will be sending out small gifts to those who already dropped bags into the chests.
Unfortunately, with the bags decaying sooner than expected, there is no easy way to count the gorillas submitted. I apologize for the inconvenience, and the event will resume/restart in a day or so.

I'm in the new event now and I like that the gorilla's are a bit more than one hit wonders this time! Only thing I noticed is that I'm dropping karma like a rock killing these things. Is that normal?

Yes, the base mob was changed so the loot table didn't have gems and gold on it, and the unfortunate side affect is the karma. There is no way (that i know of currently) to have the best of both worlds. Karma is easy enough to raise, so I'm not changing it back to the way it was.I'm in the new event now and I like that the gorilla's are a bit more than one hit wonders this time! The first time around, the bags and gorilla replicas were temporary items, however due to a typo, they decayed in 1 day, instead of 10 days. So, essentially, if you dropped any in on day 1, they were all gone by day 2, making it impossible for an accurate count. So since this was a big oops on my part, we (the admin's and I) decided to give out a small gift to those that participated but would not have any gorillas counted.?+Requiem wrote:I will be sending out small gifts to those who already dropped bags into the chests.
I am in the process of verifying the characters involved, to ensure that it was one character per account that submitted any replicas as the rules stated. I have about 30 more accounts/characters to verify, which will hopefully be today or tomorrow, depending on how busy I get. The packages will appear magically in your bank in a few days (if there was a box for you in the gorilla submission chest, and you weren't disqualified. Those never decayed, so its just a matter of dropping in the gifts, verifying the character, and getting them out to everyone).
I also extended the event until this Sunday afternoon eastern time, to allow those people who could only play on weekends a chance at receiving at least a participation prize. As mentioned, there will be a 1st, 2nd, 3rd place prize as well as participation prizes provided you don't get in trouble, and don't attempt to cheat.
The drop rate was cut from about 10% to about 3% so only one drop box was needed. It took me nearly 5 hours to go through the other drop boxes to check for doubles, etc and I won't do that again. 1 box for everyone, and since the box has item limits, i reduced the drop rate to compensate, while still allowing you to collect as many as possible within the time limit. Also, the gorillas and bags no longer decay, so there won't be an issue of disappearing gorilla replicas this time around.

I believe you, of course, but I swear that I had to kill ~30 gorillas to get one statue the first night this thing opened. I was the guy complaining how it took me an hour to get 6 while Merrilus had 9 in the first five minutes, lol. Is the statue drop affected by Luck?

Re: Diseased Gorilla Hunting Event
What would possibly make you think that requoting all that from the GM would even be worth your time or anyone else's time. If anyone is unable to read the GMs information then maybe they should reconsider the games they play and go play some tic tac toe or something that requires no reading. Not to mention if they couldn't read +Requiem's post I highly doubt they would be able to read yours.

Thank you for the event! It was full of color reminded me of Easter. I really enjoyed it! *bows*
