Would love to see a few more magery-like skills: mysticism, bard masteries and spellweaving.
Ideas? Comments?
New Skills
Re: New Skills
Is it possible for staff to create new skills? What would mysticism and new barding skills do?
I always played as a mage on OSI, but they are so underpowered here compared to having Imps and/or 220 dex (not that I have either of those things) that it's not really viable for fighting the more difficult fights. Unless I am missing something entirely, then please enlighten me as to how I can!
Maybe have some specific summons related to magery through a new skill and you have to go through some kind of quests or gather materials to "build" the best/strongest summons? Current summonables aren't really of any use.

Re: New Skills
Thanks
I've been away from OSI for such a long time I had no idea that these existed!

Re: New Skills
Just because they are now on OSI doesn't mean we can just "make" them for Excelsior. Excelsior is running a much, much older version of the game, and a nearly ancient version of runuo. Adding new skills wouldn't be a simple endeavor, as it would require modifying the core itself to try and force it to accept the new skills, which it's generally programmed to prevent people from doing. It might not even be possible, and even if it were it's not something anyone on staff knows how to do or would be interested in doing. At best, we might someday be able to fix the issue that makes spellweaving not work, as well as some of the weapon specials and the like. But those would be very far down the list and not something one should look for anytime in the near future.

Just to clear it out, i know that it wouldn't be an easy addition, just a thought for future+Nyx wrote:Just because they are now on OSI doesn't mean we can just "make" them for Excelsior. Re: New Skills
Out of curiousity how were the Cleric spells added in? Those aren't OSI, so could something similar be done to get Spellweaving and Bard Masteries into Excelsior? Don't have to be exact, obviously, but could be a way to bring new skills/abilities into the game.
