I love they way it's set up in Trammel on the pay servers. You can war with guilds which makes it optional pvp Makes for awesome consensual rp as well. This is the best idea I've seen on this shard yet :)

Yeah but then this goes back to the gear problem. I don't think many people are going to want war with vets with 3x as much HP as them. Takes all the fun out of pvp when gear is so much unbalanced.

if u did something along the lines of guilds warring it would be optional so if both sides agree, then they dont care about the fact that some of the players may have an advantage, plus for the players like cornbread and dramoor etc, surely they would welcome the challenge of taking on 10 or 15 ppl. LOL and while it is an idea there will have to be rules in place such as when war is declared it will have to go a certain time before one side can opt out, and any other things that may come up.

With guild warring, the players are expecting it. Any good tactics can overcome gear. This will also bring back the romance of the rogue... sneaking, spying etc etc. If this could ever be implemented. I'd be warring with my alt characters rather than my main.
PvP on guild lvl isn't gear, it's team work. Give me a small guild of good PvP'ers and we'd take down the largest group of "buff" stat heads on the shard.

Edit - Of course.. There is going to be a ton of hurt feelings here.. Many here are very sensitive. We would need to find a way to keep the smack talk PvP whining down.

Ever since you posted this I've been mulling it over. I haven't thought of a very good way to do kill counts for our pvp events yet - I thought of a way, but it's clunky and not very efficient, which really bothers my OCD - but I *did* think of a way we can find out who captured the most trophies in Onslaught. I'm going to see about implementing it fairly soon and then see if I can get +V on to run it :)

I wouldn't mind a war type system ... if people want to have a guild war event or something ... Just attach a administrative fee to it ... ... to Set up a War dec you have to pay a Fee ... to accept you have to pay a fee ... = Gold sink War Lasts for say 7 days then turns off ... war can be continued by guild leaders on both sides paying the fee again ... War can be cancled at any time after it starts ( IE Forfit ) Use the suggested kill count ( can be done easy enough with the death annoucmenets already available ingame ) ( keep some sort of points at whom has the most kills etc ... ) ( higest total wins war ) ( unless it was continued ) ... and then just have some sort of simple sash prize or something ... I participated in the A vs V Guild war Vet ( you cld also list the number of days the war lasted as well ) ...

Something like that would be quite interesting and fun ... to see ... no one to participate whom does not want to participate ... and a good gold sink too ...

For those who dont like the Fee .. guess what .. War cost money LOL ...

Coming from an old sphere server player, PVP system is actually something pretty cool , but , in guild wars there is something called towns made by players in wich 15 houses (from min 15 players) were set up next to eachother on a landscape and then a wall (log or stone depending on house number) was set up to create a closed guild in wich there could existe a towncenter with npcs just like in every house. pvp was opened in all map and u could fight inside major towns like trinsic/brit with no guards involveld. no "insurance" was made on your gear so when defeated would lose all gear btw... Being a peacefull server has the advantage that u dont need to be binding "harm" and casting it in case the player that had the bad luck of crossing roads with u could not be friendly...

There is a landscape outside UO normal britainia (next to T2a) called green acres, i dont know if admins have used all it's space but if not , it could be build a landscape (possibly a ghost town but small actually) and script a gear entrance with reg bag + weapon mage book full pvp kit on a stone placed in every town just like pvp entrance where could be made guild wars with no gm interacting as long as there was (for example a min 5 players on each team side) there also could be spectator's entrance to rooftops so long as they entered naked (robes min gear or something) to spectate fights, and a scroll for the wining team as a reminder of a suceeded guild war. There could also be placed weapon and reg spawns in the area.

That system could also be availiable to normal players if the number on each team side was equal , diferent robe colours could be created for each team , this kind of system could have 4 teams of 5 and could be ajusted to number of people joining in...

It's basically something like and auto pvp event generator :P
