Hi I havent played UO for a few years, but I like to start again.
I have read many topics and I like to ask: You all play with nobles/mules, is there a point to train a fighting skill? Or its just about Animal taming, healing and healing your fighting pets?
Can I play solo on this shard? Will I be able to kill something on my own?
Thank you for help.
New player question
Re: New player question
Hi there, to answer boldly i'd say you can solo here. At first it will be difficult tough. But like everything it gets easier and easier as it goes. You may want to get a sidekick to help out sometimes or versus some more difficult monsters. As for myself i like going solo. Challenges await !
I hope this help you out a bit and welcome to the shard.

Re: New player question
In essence, there's a point where you put the pets away and just do it yourself because it's easier. Though some mobs still need pets even for the best players. (imp pets that don't suffer stat loss on death)

So it means, in the beggining I have to train Animal tamming and stuff for healing pets only. So any fighting skill like Swormanship is useless right now?
Re: New player question
You probably want ok fighting skills to start off with so you can do the rat quest as often as possible. Look it up in the new player section of the wiki, after that its Mistvale and the new player dungeon quests.Rebrik wrote:So it means, in the beggining I have to train Animal tamming and stuff for healing pets only. Also you might want to apply to the new player guild but I can't remember the name off the top of my head.
Cheers,
Dain.

Re: New player question
The new player guild is Excelsior Training Academy and you can pm Ernie in-game for membership. You can stay in it for 3 months and they help you get started. Welcome and have fun!

Thank You all for help.
Last question: What are best skills to start and what values, when you are creating new character? Or is it better to put higher value to skills that is hard to train?

Re: New player question
Depends a bit on what you want to do, but healing is a good one, Animal taming if you plan to use pets. (Iirc you start with a +60 skill ball, 90 skill allows you to run with mules) Also vet.
The combat skills are real quick to train up in the training room, as are the lore skills.
Of course if you want to go crafting, tinkering and a bit of mining let you craft all the tools you need to get to work instead f buying them.
