Excelsior will NOT be known as a shard where players may disrespect staff members. Period. I am not here to win a popularity contest, I am here to enforce rules, and maintain order as Colibri is.

If I choose to edit a post for content, I will do so. If I choose to close a forum, I will do so. Do I need to explain why? No. I will however, not think twice before giving disciplinary action to those who are disrespectful to staff members. We work hours upon hours to create an environment suitable for CHILDREN and adults. If you do not like this, please feel free to move along. It is quite simple.

I have NEVER been on a shard where this has been allowed to continue as long as it has. It will NOT be tolerated.

I do not say this to scare anyone. I say this to set a standard, right here and right now, that such behavior will not be tolerated.

I refuse to subject new players to this "disrespect trend" by brushing these things under the rug.

This is NOT the real world. This is NOT a place for "free speech". This is a controlled environment, of which the level of control is set high so that children and families may play here. If you feel the need to cuss, to use rude slang, to use words that categorize a specific type of people in a demeaning way or speak about staff in a rude manner. If you have issues with authority, I suggest to get over them or move on because this is not the place for it. Period. This is NOT up for negotiation.

The forums will NOT be your pedestal for rude and uncivilized behavior, flaming or disrespecting staff.

Colibri might have a much quieter demeanor when it comes to expressing these things but that does NOT mean you may continue.

In closing, we are all very genuine and caring staff members. We do not enjoy having to enforce rules, but we are not afraid to have to.

Again, the only thing i see is pointing two mistakes in the last two threads. Was a bit bluntly done, but nonetheless. But let's keep the word "Children" with us. By the way ... you're not the only persons spending hours on free projects, actually, many coders would be glad if they got as many thank yous as you guys.

Perhaps if you do not want to brush them anywhere, it would be good to keep the discussion going and contribute ?

Families ... free speech ... dynamite. Though i do agree on the cussing, which has been solved, i believe. If free speech is not open to negotiation, you should give up your "family friendly" tag, because it's a mere illusion(of course lol), and furthermore a disgrace to all the projects out there that try to teach children how to handle life. If you do indeed oppose free speech, you should be very ashamed. It is perfectly alright to censor cussing, but restricting anyone from speaking their mind is plainly wrong ! This is not what children should learn and certainly not what parents should have them see, unless they want a 4th Reich. If this is indeed the policy, then i feel sorry i ever supported this shard in any way. No matter if this is the real world or not, you are trying to set an example and this is NOT the way. I think you underestimate the impact modern media has on our society.

As a new person, I appreciate what Rayne is doing.

like I said, it's the holidays and the posts that have been going since I started reading these forums just shouldn't. I've met quite a few folks on the server and they have been fun, kind, helpful, informative, and many more. Rayne's doing an excellent job to make sure the forums stay as friendly as the game is, which should be the case imo. Like I said you can think things are offtopic all you like, but they are not intended as such, maybe just the way you are viewing them?

This time of year should be a fun time!

i think coli posted that poll as a "fun" thing... not intended for the one to get the least votes is fired... lol... an its not about who does more work, rayne, being the admin, that has alot of responsibility, im sure if she didnt want all that, she would have quit along time ago, along with all the other staff, an new staff, they all accept certain responsibilites, an some even incharge of other things... like events, autions, etc... so unless im wrong, but that poll was intended to be fun... like Employee of the month (good movie btw lol), except this is Staff of the month, nothing special or exciting, just another thing for us to do, cuz we like polls apparently... lol

Freedom of speech is relevant, in the real world. However, even in the real world, there are rules restricting, defamation of character, slander, harassment, disrupting the peace, disorderly conduct and abuse via this avenue of "speech". This is governed by the judicial system. And for Excelsior, the staff is the judicial system. The standards we set are upheld via the enforcement of rules, both written and unwritten. We reserve the right to execute our decision making at anytime we deem neccesary. We will put a stop to any "speech" if it harms the integrity of the shard or is otherwise disrespectful to staff members.

Please do not misconstrue my words.
