So, looking at the wiki, I see that the pictures posted are the Mistvale pieces. That makes me wonder, why are the pieces missing so many resistances? Is it to offset the other stats and force you to mismatch other gear to make up for it?
I find it hard to reacquaint myself with new armor or accessories because of the quest gear's quirky mismatched resistances. It's temporary, I get that, but why does it have to be so awkward? I mean, several pieces are missing half of the resists, I suppose in response to them having similar stat sets that you would find on re-layered gear. Apologies for the rant, but it makes no sense after going through all that work that it's lacking the thing you would mostly expect from "armor".

Are you joking? You get 48/50/50/50/43 resistances, full LRC and a bunch of other bonuses/stats wearing only 7 pieces and you're complaining? This is not supposed to be your end all be all gear on its own for half a year. Not to mention you can get a crafted belt+neck for close to nothing to max out resistances and you'll still end up with a few empty slots.

As you said, it's temporary Enjoy the awesome gear while it lasts (and the permanent cloak too which is almost equal to a relayer), you can get to full/near full resists with the remaining slots you got open.

Many of us were too old and never got to Mistvale so it could be worse
