UPGRADE Helpsystem improvements:
- Rcoded to use the new fixed version of the database caching layer (that fixes a bug with some tickets becoming broken, either losing data about who sent it or which directory it's under).
- Restricts sending too many tickets (2 in an hour, or 5 per day).
- Touchups on the main page of the help gump.
- When selecting the option to send a new ticket, if you have recently sent a ticket, it reminds you that you don't need to send additional tickets and shows your recent tickets. (we have had a consistent problem with people sending multiple tickets, sometimes minutes apart, with new information about the same issue, instead of typing ).
- When a ticket is closed, it displays detailed info about the current status of the ticket "This ticket is closed. You can still submit messages, and other members of this ticket will be notified. However if you still need help with this issue, please reopen this ticket"

October 4th, 2019
FIX Bonus house storage deed now displays the bonus in its name.
FIX HelpSystem touchups and a few bug fixes. Easier interface for staff to move tickets to a different folder.
FIX Guild registry gump - [guilds - shown incorrect hue.
FIX House decay email reminder - is now re-sent if a long time has passed since the last reminder (formula: account's house decay duration + 365 days).
UPGRADE Tool for viewing expired houses & exporting emails was still in a development/experimental state, now nicer display of some things and the "drop house" button is no longer displayed for houses that shouldn't yet be dropped so a house that should remain standing can't be accidentially dropped.
FIX There was one more stubborn issue in the database caching layer, and between 6th and 8th of October we had a few restarts.

ADD Search tool [MyStuff for searching through all belongings of a player.

October 18th, 2019
UPGRADE Minor improvements helpsystem user interface (ticket browser for staff).
FIX Fixed exploit that made it possible to bring an account bound item into your own backpack.
FIX House sign showing incorrect status for accounts that need to be re-notified about house falling (the sign shown "in danger of collapse" even though the house is still in safe from falling)
UPGRADE Protection against accidentially chopping stronger wooden boxes.
FIX Resurrection gump and corpse stone menu - player is temporarily paralyzed while the gump is open, but in a situation the paralyzation remained even after the gump was closed.
FIX Virtues were recalculated only on login, now also every 15 minutes. If player was online for long periods of time, there were no available resurrects on the Sacrifice virtue during all that time.
UPGRADE Added confirmation dialog before eating food that is likely not intended for eating (any food item that has a custom name, and is over 30 days old).
FIX Boat sailing in Tokuno - it's now possible to sail past the wrapping lines (as you sail to the end of the map, it transports you to the other side)
FIX Addition to the container closing glitch, was not compatible with razor. The [account gump now has an option for "Razor compatibility for cross-facet container glitch"
FIX Exex now supports balances of over 2.14 billion.
FIX Druid familiar spell had incorrect message ("That familiar requires X necromancy and Y spirit speak", the correct message is "... requires X animal lore and Y animal taming").
FIX It's now possible to chop house trash barrels with axes that have stats on them (chopping the barrel no longer checks whether it's a special kind of axe that has a safety against using it for wood-chopping).
FIX Issues with converting a classic house to a customizable. Now correctly processes teleporters (housegates, house-to-house gates, and a rented personal world teleporter).
FIX SOS bottles with invalid locations are now all fixed, there shouldn't be any more invalid SOS bottles out there.
FIX Website stone will now open to any player, even if it's secured to some level (e.g. Owner only).
CHANGE Lumberjacking gain by using an axe in combat now works up to 100.0 skill (used to go all the way to 120.0).
FIX Weapon type change deed incompatibility with the "999900 XP Achievement". If the weapon was type-changed while it was still being leveled, the achievement didn't trigger.
FIX Recall rune kept the existing description after it was re-marked or cleared.

October 21st, 2019
FIX Quest arrow pointed at an incorrect tile in places that were not on the Z=0 plane (either shown a tile to the north-west in places with negative Z coordinate, or south-east in places with positive Z coordinate).
FIX Blood champ - Krieger no longer has a shield and warmace equipped, it could be the reason sometimes client crashed when the boss spawned.
FIX 2-handed weapons that are relayered twice did't work (weapons relayered first to equipment and then back to weapon).
UPGRADE Character rename in the [account gump - after renaming, added additional information how to transfer macros & client settings so that they will work after the character is renamed.
UPGRADE House lockdowns & item reservation: when an item is locked down or secured, the "Reserved for" is removed. When releasing an item from the house, the item becomes temporarily reserved for the player who released it (for 30 seconds).
FIX Medallion of the undead now blocks some spells from being casted while it's equipped (the spells that, while they are in effect, prevent from equiping the medallion in the first place). Also, no longer allows to be equipped while mounted.
CHANGE Machine gump renamed two upgrades: "Reduced damage chance" is now labeled as "Wear protection", "Time reduction" is now labeled as "Faster processing".
FIX Recalling to a house right after it's demolished produced an error.
FIX Bags of holding: if the main backpack was overweight, it wasn't possible to put anything into the bag of holding.
FIX Blowhard achievement triggered with any damage given, not just damages of 500hp or over.
FIX Error with the helpsystem notification gump.
FIX Advanced bracelet of binding - was possible to place a lot of bracelets inside, exceeding the bracelet's limit.
UPGRADE Rented vendor gump - instead of the message "vendor rental will expire in X days Y hours", displays either "will renew" or "will expire" depending on the status of the contract, displays the price for the contract renewal and if the funds on the vendor are insufficient to cover the renewal, a message in red text that funds are insufficient to renew.
FIX Enhancing with tailoring - if not enough resources, there was no message displayed in the crafting journal.
FIX Treasure map book could accept maps that it then couldn't display because of the options in the filter (e.g. Tokuno). Instead of the "Malas" option, there is now the option for "Other" which shows all treasure entries from other facets (not in Tram, Fel or Ilsh, which are the most numerous ones).
FIX Halloween quest - Maximillan now can give the halloween quest.

Later on same day:
FIX Blowhard achievement re-activated, but may not yet be fixed.
FIX Fixed halloween boss tokens.
FIX Searched through all bracelet of Sha'am that had too many bracelets (over the limit) and moved excess bracelets out of them.

October 28th, 2019
FIX Quest system - error with quest initialization.
FIX Quest system - error with loading quest states. (Although this fixes karate quests, I still need to run a script that will patch up broken quest state data, for more read today's changelog post).
FIX Lights on NPCs can now be turned on or off by the player who owns it.
FIX Issues with item changing appearance while it's equipped, the change packets are now sent so that the client displays the change instantly (without having to run off screen and back again).
FIX Temporary items who's timer started ticking only after the item was picked up, now display "Temporary item" in the item properties.
FIX Helpsystem - buttons for tagging location/entity/player didn't work in a ticket that's already sent (chat window).
FIX Trash4TokensBackpack no longer gives reward for trashing temporary items (this is a re-fix of a bugfix from March 2017).
FIX Detected error in Angelic Faith spell related to to the buff bar.
FIX Detected error in Shadow Run attack that happens if the creature dies while it's doing the shadow run.
FIX Personal spawners can now be modified by alt charactes (not just the character that is the owner of the house).

ADD Auction templates (improved system to keep track of what has been auctioned off in the past, and to ease preparation of auctions). This includes importing all history data from about 120 auctions, the logs of which were in various formats.
UPGRADE Personal spawner now displays which creature it spawns (in mouse-over properties)
ADD Auction deeds: deed to reduce ammo consumption, deed to a pre-built house.
ADD Ancient weapons that are sold at auctions are now hardcoded.
FIX Technical fixes with some things loading in incorrect sequence, resulting in errors or occasionally server not being able to start and has to be re-restarted.
CHANGE Topsite voting session is now valid for 60 minutes, another session can be started after 20 hours.
UNDO Lights on NPCs can now be turned on or off by the player who owns it. - Resulted in a bug with the trading window.

November 29th, 2019
FIX Compatibility with a glitch in "Lights on NPCs can now be turned on or off by the player who own it", that broke trade windows, is now restored. (both features now work: the lights-on-npcs, as well as trade windows).
UPGRADE Addons can now be previewed by single-clicking the deed and selecting "Show visual aid" from the menu.
FIX Addon previewer didn't correctly prioritize items in certain cases (which components are in the foreground, and which in the background, for example, the Table With Cards addon)
FIX Recipe books didn't show well on the vendor's buy menu (just displayed "recipe book", now displays the name of the recipe in first line of the item properties. Cleaned up code that generates the required skills.
FIX Potential exploit with treasure maps.
FIX Snowmen now display the name of the snowman even when they're locked down.
FIX Torches that come from beggars now appear with correct/fixed lightning.
FIX Resurrection gump is completely recoded. This fixes the common issue where sometimes, after getting 2 resurrection offers, and a successful resurrection, the player remains frozen. (for example, one from ankh and one from another player casting a spell. And other edge cases).
FIX Belt quests now have a 3 day-cooldown (the 20 hour cooldown is likely from beta-testing).
UPGRADE Added a confirmation dialog for disabling auto-insurance.
FIX Plus a few administrative tools that save a lot of time when searching through world backups.

Last week's focus was mostly on bug reports. Almost all reported bugs from the Miscellaneous category between June and today are now taken care of (ones that are not related to the quest system ugprade, halloween dungeon, or housing upgrade). There were many more tickets than are fixed bugs here, but it's things that turned out not to be a bug, but still needed looking into.

Probably the most anticipated fix is to the Halloween Quest, it is operational now.

Note about the halloween quest:
While on the halloween quest, single-clicking yourself and selecting "View quest log" will show the quest log of the halloween quest. While on that quest, it's not possible to view the quest log of the new quest system (which supports doing multiple quests simultaneously). But after you finish the quest, clicking "View quest log" on your character will bring up the new quest log, with all of the quests still being where you left them. It should be possible to also do other quests while you are on Maximillan's quest, you just won't be able to access the quest log for them.

Note about Blowhard achievement:
There was an error in the code, instead of the achievement being activated when you deal 500 damage, it got activated when doing any amount of damage to a creature. This achievement is currently disabled, since the achievements have to be removed from all who currently have it (that's probably every player who did any damage since January). After those achievements are removed, the achievement will be re-activated and will be obtainable again. Since everyone wants to have a chance at being the first to have achieved it, the achievement will be re-activated at some random time, sometime in the next few days, and there will be no announcement.
Edit: the erorr seems to be somewhere else, the achievement is now active, awaiting further inspection.

Thank you C,

The Halloween quest does seem to be working, and i got rewarded )of course more caskets and candy :( but got rewarded all the same.

The one thing missing though is the Halloween Supply tokens. When I kill bosses and/or turn in quest it says I got them, but none are in the bag. This problem existed last year and Arden did something to fix it though I am not sure what.

Just found a problem with halloween tokens, we're having another restart and that will hopefully fix it for good.

Razor bags are still broken with me and i have the razor compatability checked. If im making LRC suits and i have 20 empty bags, all 20 bags will open in a big line whenever i sacred journey or recall. Also i get massive queueing whenever i try to click anything after recalling or sacred journeying into somewhere, image below.

What you describe is normal behavior with Razor and "auto search new containers" option. Basically, the option in [account "Razor compatiblity for cross-facet containers" doesn't make containers remain open when you change facets, but just "breaks" like it's always been broken, but at least now you don't get other glitches when you play using razor.

I think i'll rename this option to something else, and make it opt-in, since there might be new players connecting with razor and encountering those glitches, and just assuming that the shard is broken.

Ah ok. Could you show me where the option is for opening containers? Never had it before and cant see it.
