Razor Problems??

Post by jeffcarley »

I was wondering if anyone else had alot of trouble getting razor to work? I just got a new computer and was trying to set up razor. Ive done this before successfully but this time I get a message "cant find cliloc" which i know is client location. I followed the instructions and edited the registry to the default program file location, I tried to do the custom registry, reinstalled the client, reinstalled ultima and worked through all the troubleshooting guides but cant understand why it wont work. Anyone have any info or suggestions? The only difference i can see it that im using Vista now??

Here is my exact registry file, anyone see any problems with this that I may have missed??

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Origin Worlds Online]

I also have a new PC. I did everything that the forums said to do. Kept getting the message. After about 2 days of tryign it just started working.
I know Achmed is having the same trouble on 2 of his machines. But his just freezes at the Authorizing screen.
If it is worth doing at all, it is worth doing well.

I noticed you're missing the C:\\ on the second list of 'editables'.

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Origin Worlds Online\Ultima Online Third Dawn\1.0]
"ExePath"="C:\\Program Files\\Ultima Online - Excelsior Shard\\uotd.exe"
"InstCDPath"="C:\\Program Files\\Ultima Online - Excelsior Shard"
"PatchExePath"="C:\\Program Files\\Ultima Online - Excelsior Shard\\uopatch.exe"
"StartExePath"="C:\\Program Files\\Ultima Online - Excelsior Shard\\uo.exe"

If you have extracted to the default folder C:\Program Files\Excelsior Freeshard\ then there's no need for any editing. Just doubleclick the C_ProgramFiles.reg file and it should apply the registry values.

Then, if you have a pretty new razor, it should simply work.

I have just helped a player who had the authentication problem. In such case,
make sure you are connecting to shard.uoex.net port 60, not the official OSI servers.
