Ok, I made a bio pet and made sure he is magery enabled by gathering dna from mage casting pets.
"Mental: This type of DNA deals with magic and mind power. It determines the amount of Int, Mana, Energy & Poison Resists, and Magic skills."
Here are the skills and stats of my balron looking pet:
449 mana
401 intel
100 magery
100 eval
100 med
(actually 100 of all the skills listed on the skill page)
But he wont cast one spell. Ok, I might be naive, but i have tried putting in his backpack all the 8 mage regs and a magery book, no chance.
The wiki gave me a clear impression that it has Magic skills, was I wrong? Is it possible for some wiki scribe to add that it only does melee if it's the way it works?
Also, when i stable it, the animal trainer says: "In one real world week, I shall sell it off if it is not claimed."
Is that true, will I lose that pet if i dont log on for 8 days?
Thanks for the info!

Re: bio pets and magery
The file for bio pets may not include the mage AI, if it doesn't, it won't cast.
Having magic skills doesn't necessarily mean it will use them. But I'll have to defer to Mr. Coder man for the more direct info because I don't know all of it.

Hehe, I beleive that there is no casting AI indeed, hopefully your mr coder can add it in;-)

I was talking about Coli =p
Re: bio pets and magery
i think it could be like anything that has magic skill, it would cast randomly. im assuming you have a human bio. i would then assume it would need a spellbook and regs since it's not a creature and it has a pack. also i assume that it wont cast magic all the time either or any specific time at all. maybe it would teleport once in a blue moon, who knows. but i doubt it will have much smarts about what to cast. of course this is just an opinion i have nothing to back this up. just a thought really.
also i think the magic thing works more for animal/monster bios then humans. but again, just a thought.

Re: bio pets and magery
bio pets will cast spells if they have magery and mana to do so - while pets are "guard" killing stuff they wont cast but when they are "kill" mode attacking stuff they Will cast magery spells FYI . .

Re: bio pets and magery
Well my pet is in balron form. he attacked as much with the "all kill" command than with the "all guard".
Not a single spell.
