breaking the monopoly on WW weapons

Cerrera and i started off joking around about piezoelectric bone crushers but it led to a good conversation about about making a shield enhancement

or it could be a weapon enchantment i dont know if its even programmable to do
im not a programmer so i dont know

the idea that we sort of half fleshed out was using the power crystals from exodus dungeon perhaps it required other items as well, likely part of the tinkering skill, or it could even be a quest that needs to be done
results in a deed for a weapon or shield called a "capacitor"
and as you fight monsters you generate a charge (hitting monsters if its a weapon, blocking damage if its a shield)
when you reach a critical value the capacitor discharges, resulting in AOE damage the amount of damage done and distance can be easily varied

theres only 3 viable weapons on this server, a war hammer, halberd and double axe, everything else is useless
finding a weapon with good stats isnt enough, you HAVE to spend ED's to change it to one of those 3 types

if this was applicable to all weapons, it would make whirlwind weapons a little bit stronger, but it would certainly lift other weapon types up a great deal

It's not a bad idea... for ease of coding, you could have it cast earthquake every hit (though, there is no tracking like that, and it might be hard to code.
If you had it, check weapon XP and discharge every 1k or so... but that wouldn't work for weapons that are already 100 unless the XP counter keeps going in the code and just isn't shown on the weapon.

Either way, it's a decent idea, but sadly, without multiple staff, it's something that cannot be considered for implication from a practical POV.

People that play a Yumi/WW combination, already have it easy. Especially since there is instant auto heal, which is already so overwhelming. You know, standing at Champs "AFK", to go make a sandwich, then coming back later just before, or after it is done, and the gold has already been collected. Or macro hunting to make gold, and glancing at the screen to see if they are being "AFK" checked every so often. If that is how some people wish to play, that is none of my business, but it is noticeable at how effortless that way really is.

Doing this type of suggestion will only concreate the Yumi/WW combination further. Further devaluing everything that does not follow this already existing direction of game play. Asking for more power like this, would only elevate the power of WW weapons, still, leaving other weapons, in the dust. No one uses less than the best on Excelsior, except a few players who want to relive the nostalgia of having "Choice", my self included. (Note: Some players do the Fel only Challenge, due to the lack of choice, and the lack of actual challenge after a level of power is achieved on this server. Or they stop playing.)

I appreciate the solidarity of being in a group that most foster on this server. However, the idea that further osterizes people that dont follow that prescribed path, will only become more palatable, and made into a bigger monster. Believe me, there are plenty of games out there that are 1 directional, and end up being made even "more" 1 directional with the advent of ideas like this. The Call of Duty Series, with its already aim assist, and cheat program for "AimBot", so all you have to do is walk or run around, and the CPU shoots people accurately for you, without you having to pull the trigger. Dragon Ball Z games, Mortal Combat, Killer Instinct... (The list is to huge to continue..) All of these games will play for you through easy mechanics, assist programs that play for you, and mashing 1 or 2 buttons to do "Combo Assist", which does like 40 hit combos for you, while the other player, even if seasoned in games, has a low chance of beating someone (or even getting to move from there stunned position the entire match.) who only holds a directional key, and mashes that button.

People dont actually have to "play", on this server and other servers. They usually only have to touch the mouse 20% of the time to move about. (Sometimes more or less) All this would do, would support "AFK" program behavior, and further push players that dont want to play a WW/Yumi Warrior further off this server from isolation, due to not looking to fall in line. (Surprise folks, the lack of choice in social behavior and how people enforce others to play here, is why this server has lower numbers in population than the past) Which if thats what everyone wants? Then ok. I will continue to watch people who are new and old players on here complain about the economy, and how there is nothing to do, and just shrug.

By the way, sure would be nice to sale some of the stuff on TC vendors and in many players holdings at there homes, if the numbers went up due to player diversity. Not to mention, the higher population, would mean more donations. (Big hint for you +C. As they say, money makes the world go round, including fathers with a life & home to pay for.)

Personally, I think 2 handed weapons should swing slower, even at 220 Dex, and Single handed weapons should stay at there current max. Making relayering a 2 handed weapon to make it 1 handed still valid, and more desirable, to increase its speed through the 500 ED investment. I truly feel Instant Auto Heal, should be put at just over a second (I would say the same speed of how fast a weapon swings right now, at 220 Dex) From what I hear, people actually have to watch the game during X-Mas event, because healing is restricted to 1 second per heal. (or around that) That would certainly make afk farming the big hard hitting monsters a lot harder with a program, unless you are one of the few players that have 500-600+ HPs. Including making fights with Halloween monsters less likely to be solo'd, 3 at a time, buy a player with 500-600 HP base as well. That might foster team efforts on this server, which in turn, makes a better social and economical atmosphere. (Makes a few things more rare.)

If everyone wants to be the same, and keep it the same, with no omni-directional changes in mind for other skills on this server, the numbers will either stay low, or end up getting lower over time. Which if a small population is the goal of +C, then he is on the right track. Smaller population, less to manage, easier to maintain. North Korea did that, after the fall of is socialist benefactor, the Soviet Union, collapsed back during the start of the 1990's. When the then current Un, stated they only needed 10% of there population to maintain the country after there being no more finances to keep the rest. Meaning 90% of the population was no longer valid for this plan. By no means am I comparing +C to a dictator, im only showing there is a similarity in thinking. Which many people, from many different governing states and countries have done around the world. (And are still currently doing today.)

This server is, and has been social & politically charged on its own accord, since I have returned to the my old account I started almost 10 years ago. (been back around 4 years now.) And to be completely honest, if change really is desired, you dont take 100% of your advice from people who all want the same thing, for a single direction. That should only be 50% of the time, because that is not where innovation comes from. It comes from people deemed weird, or that dont fit in, or that most of all, "Question" why something is only fair in 1 direction. If you dont listen to those kinds of people, it fosters a very forced social dynamic, which currently resides on this server. Pushing out people who are not behaving and playing in the manner that is demanded by people who like to be the same as the person standing next to them, for the social/political benefits it brings, and the lack of competition as well. (Which are actually a lot smaller benefits than you think.)

(Believe it or not, how people feel has a HUGE psychological effect on them online. Far more than in "Real Life".. and if people feel there needs will never be met, they 90-95% of the time go else where. It does not matter what "Mentally Manly" types that would disagree that feelings actually matter, have to say. To say "Logic" is all that matters, is incorrect. No matter how stoic you are, things still effect you.)

But anyhow, just my 2 cents, take it or leave it.

Saw such thing as more of a shield, not a weapon, as we imagined with Geriatric, damage could be condensed over time and released with special move, If you don't do that, it slowly fades away, as in real capacitors .Anyway that begun from statement that battery is a process, not an item, than we all somehow went to piezoelectrics , from it to capacitors, and thought was born. Anyway who wants already was, is and will afk, with and without any strange stuff and maybe just frozen sewage will stop them :mrgreen:
It was simply brainstorm, no worries. don't think that everyone wants to be same, but optimal way is just one, how good that i like to play as warrior , most optimal would be of course as archer, but ok, warrior is cheaper :D
