You can't even fill all the slots in a harrower with the players we have here. He's literally not calling out a champ so others cannot participate so he can loot the skull to sell to someone who will organize an event open to everyone. So yes, that's greed, play the game however you want, get gold however you want, but don't pretend to be some selfless protector on the forums when your actions in game speak otherwise.

He has in the past called out Oaks champ. I know because I’ve seen it and I’ve gotten a skull because of it. Also, the price of an Oaks skull is about 1/3 what it used to be.Yuki wrote: ↑Wed Jun 12, 2024 9:01 am

If selling and Oaks skull is greed then why aren’t you also calling out those that do Harrower runs and sell the scrolls they receive from it?
Not calling out a champ never has been considered “greed” nor will it ever.

wow I'm greedy now since there been the odd time I soloed a champ.Yuki wrote: ↑Wed Jun 12, 2024 9:01 am

That and really if you think him giving free relayers out isn't hurting the economy of the shard your wrong.
It isn't hurting the uber rich its hurting the likes of me that cant sell the mid weapons and gear that normally would be the progress of newcomers
Re: Ton of Bricks.
Actually, I don't care what you said to Lach. I didn't even ask for it. As you said, I shouldn't criticize anyone, but look who's criticizing me.
Why don't you question that yourself? I bet arguing back and forth won't do any good, @Dirtybook, have you ever tried it?
I feel like talking to you is pointless, spending time enjoying games is probably better than wasting time arguing on this forum, isn't it?
Regards, my little dirtybook.

I just find it funny that you think I give stuff out because I want friends I just take it that seriously the rest of you seem to live, eat & breath this game it seems. Maybe I am psychotic actually scratch that I do a have mental condition but that in no way contributes to me being nice to other people & needing them to be my friend It's just comical at this point how you think I need to act a certain way or do certain things to have people to play with. I do what I want when I want kinda like how I live my real life sorry not sorry. Oh and as far as vets quiting thats on them maybe if there was new content & things to do people would stay.

Trung.. you're the "Master of Self-Contradiction" with that last post you made.. my hats off to you on the heights of you're lack of intelligence.
Anyhow, I'm surprised all this came from my small opinion.. I suppose it's just things boiling under the lid of a boiling pot of grievances we may have toward one another.. But I would like to point out, this thread probably has not been locked, because I have not seen what anyone has said here, get out of hand. (surprisingly)
Feels more like a civil dispute among players to me.. Nothing human beings aren't known throughout history for doing in the first place.
Anyhow, I think I have said what I have had to say. I won't be replying anymore, it's already too boring for me to bother..
Now, would be a good time to get in any nasty comments you may have toward me. Knowing I'm not going to reply..

My turn to chime in. I usually sit on the sidelines and observe but I want to play too!! I have no beef with anyone on this server. I have had good experiences with all the vets and have enjoyed their generosity over time, including John Warren around Halloween. I've never crossed paths with Lach so what he does in game does not impact me directly EXCEPT when it comes to auctions. I'm not a rich vet but I'm not a beginner either. I want to earn my way to being a vet and part of that is grinding out gold and buying an item in the auction. The last few auctions have been dominated by Lach and it's discouraging. I just hope eventually the dust will settle and he will realize his war with a few people is impaction the innocent. I've always had problems with people in the real world that think they can do anything they want if they have enough money and the auctions here have become that. However, this debate is informative and entertaining. Glad it's civil so far.

Re: Ton of Bricks.
Woo, another thread that boils down to auction drama. It's by design, you know. These high-dollar coveted items could be at set prices on a stone and still serve as a gold sink. The enforced rarity drives donations though, so a monthly auction is a monthly pay check. No hate for gettin' some cash, but the cause of friction here is baked into the game.

What I find infuriating is how you think you're some sort of selfless protector of the shard when all you do here is sit around town center flexing, lurk on the forums with Moulke, and occasionally throw out an advert for your overpriced vendor.
While I find Lachian's antics (and really this whole situation) incredibly cringe, he is actually running a guild for new players, helping them, and PLAYING the game with them. He's run multiple harrower events open to the community, meanwhile you solo oaks before anyone can get there to get the skull to sell. That's probably the most telling show of a greedy player here, you take an item that can benefit the community and try to get gold for it while Lachian uses it. If you want to make this server better, get off your cross and participate in the community instead of airing your grievances and spewing your resentment all over the forums and world chat.
Many items on my vendor are cheapest on server. Many are not. Just how it is.
I've called Oaks plenty of times in the past. I don't see anybody else ever do that. When WAG was active I donated 4 of my skulls for whole server runs. One time we did the runs when I wasn't even available - I used 2 of my own skulls and didn't even attend.
But facts don't matter when you've made your mind up about something/someone. You can continue to spew out whatever garbage you want, even though it isn't true.

Sounds like you were a great member of the community in the past.Johnny Warren wrote: ↑Wed Jun 12, 2024 5:09 pmI've called Oaks plenty of times in the past. I don't see anybody else ever do that. I'd say that's accurate. I am clearly fairly jaded these days.

1. *deleted* sorry i shouldnt have posted that
2. newbies should be hunted down for sport not "helped"
3. i don't get the john warren hate at all. i will admit i was annoyed at him at the beginning of the auction drama and even felt he was a bit of a hypocrite about his concerns but i was wrong. he has always been an honest and friendly guy with me even though he knows i bought most of the rares from his idoc a few years ago. i never offered to return the rares because i felt id gotten them fair and square and if he felt differently about it he never hinted at it. btw he had an incredibly good rares collection it was no small loss.
4. i have never blamed lach for donating a ton of money and gobbling up auction items because others have done the same and the server rules allow it. if he wants to give his stuff away that's his right and his motivations aren't really any of my business. lach does need to learn the most important rule in uoex though "its a small server and collecting enemies is not a good idea" i forget who told me that as a noob but i've tried to live by it (mostly).
5. i would like the "no selling ingame items for real life money" rule clarified but i dont expect an answer anytime soon.
6. yeah i hate when people do bullet point responses too lol im just feeling extra chatty today.

Re: Ton of Bricks.
Heh, thanks culichi. I'll always appreciate that you got back my Britannian Stag hunt trophy from that IDOC, that was good of you. I always try and be fair in my dealings with everyone.
I think when you say "others have done this before", referring to people buying out auctions, it actually hasn't. In terms of the sheer quantity of items bought, the percentage of overall items on offer bought and the insane prices we've seen things go to, this is new territory. Nobody has donated over $20k in 6 months and spent billions after billions making sure nobody else gets anything. It hasn't been done. Even when Alejandro and Muolke had over a billion in the coffers it was rare to see them bid on more than 2 or 3 big ticket items. I called it before it happened. Deckard's final words in WC will always be remembered: "It will always be like this." So far, they've proven prophetic. Not only has there been a lack of remorse from Lachian about any of it, it is the opposite. He starts threads telling everyone they aren't allowed to bid against him, threatening repeatedly to up the ante and buy out even more items next time. This is not a healthy situation at all, and it is completely unprecedented. Nobody else in the history of Excelsior has done anything like that.
Many of the more modern lists are available on these forums thanks to Wil. If anyone cares to fact-check me you can, you will see that Muolke at his worst/richest was nowhere near this level and it has only been 6 months! We are in unprecedented waters here around the only true endgame content on the server - that's what I am fighting for. If anyone thinks I am just making things up, go and search up the lists, read for yourself. This is a new and scary paradigm we are in.
It is hard in these situations to see things from everybody's perspective. But from mine, I've had the door shut on completing some projects I have been working on for over 5 years by the actions of a single, selfish player here. That's why I've gone form being a positive community member and mentor to a jaded, burnt out vet in only 6 months. After nearly 15 years I have a few more tweaks to go and some of my final projects (most of which I have been working on for over 5 years - some of you reading this won't have even been playing ehre as long as I have been slowly grinding towards these projects), I just need a couple more auctions deeds to finalize my end game weapons, I've been outubid year after year on many of them - for years before Lachian even arrived. I finally get enough gold to have a shot at one deed this year and some bloke shows up, donates enough RL money to feeda small African village for a year, and uses those earnings to effectively say you can no longer access those endgame goals. Furthermore, all future players need to be paying 4x what items were once worth, because my greed and ignorance knows no bounds. What do I do? What does anyone do who wants to try and access the scarce, high end items from Auctions? We are entirely at the Mercy of Lord Lachian, hero and Saviour, bringer of the Next Era, to show us mercy and allow us to bid, otherwise he has shown and literally stated "They are mine first, yours if I allow." I am sorry, but I won't watch that happen without pointing out how... if not against the rules... disgusting, wrong, greedy, selfish, impolite, rude and completely unprecedented those actions are.
If you're reading this Lachian. I implore you to change your attitude towards everyone here man. If you can show some form of restraint and awareness at the next auction, this will be the last negative post I ever make about your attitude. I have always said, the donations aren't the problem, it's the attitude. Change it, and you will find a lot more people like you.

Yeah I see it I get your point as well and like I have said before. I am no longer donating haven't in over a month.
