Maybe we should just have more auctions and not get into all this again, it's really a simple solution. Heck at this point I'd pay $100 just to get my bio's the gear and relayers back.

Yeah I said I'd pay to get my stuff back isn't that what we do anyway. It's good to see the true content of your character though lol and i'm the pos. Thanks for the auction log Wil, to me it looks like about 2.29 billion gold was sunk today.


Quick thoughts/plans:
- There will likely be no more re-auctions, it's just too much work after the auction to also organize that. Maybe someday... but right now I'm happy that the auction is over with, so I can focus on coding again. Maybe someday if it's automated/coded, but there's so many other things that we can play with.
- Next auction probably in first half of October... there might be some new gore/gruesome/halloweeny themed addons.


- I'm thinking that a more-accessible auction in the format of 24-hour bidding stones, right next to the displayed items, would be a good idea. Would need to be coded, and i'm kinda passionate about this idea right now, but I don't know how it will be with so many other things that need doing. Basically a simple stone, you see the current highest bid, and ability to outbid, and there's a simple 24-hour delay after the last bid was posted. After 24 hours of no bids, the highest bidder wins. There's a bit of a problem with bidding on more than one could afford, maybe the existing Exex "gold in trade" functionality could be used. Yeah it's not as exciting as live, but we can try it once and see how it goes. There would be a global announcement when something is sold (and possibly 15 minutes before the bid would be final)

The funny thing is that there’s several players who can afford to donate as much (if not more than you). There’s actually one player that I speak with on a regular basis that is worth about 20 million. But we have enough fulfillment in our real lives and value money enough not to spend $30,000 in a 12 month period on a game.

In reality you donate that much money to this game because you seek attention and you have no other joy in your life. You don’t have any real friends, you don’t have a social life, and you crave attention because even your wife is sick of you. So you turn to this game to fill that void. You “buy” your “friends” and act like you’re some sort of Paladin of excelsior but the truth is that we’re all laughing at you. You’ll have earned temporary virtual “friends” who 6 months from now will have long forgotten you and that’s about it.

You think that basically paying $2,000 for an in-game item (which many of us already have anyways) is a flex. It’s not. We’re all laughing at you. It doesn’t matter that you act that you’re some sort of Bill Gates because you’re not. No mentally stable person would ever act the way you do. So deep down we actually feel sorry for you. Sorry that you have no “real” joy in life outside of this game. As they say…money can’t buy everything and it’s painfully obvious with you.

Personally, I actually love watching you blow thousands of dollars to get a single item. I’m super happy for Colibri who now has extra money for himself and his family. Please keep these auctions going, we’ll all keep making Lachian pay dearly for these items, and you should be able to save up a nice college fund for your kids +C. I’m a businessman, there is zero disdain about this towards you. Take the money all the way to the bank and enjoy!

Listen to me: if you have a mental health condition, i would never make fun of that, i didn't point that out in a depreciative way. I'm very sensitive to this matter, believe me.

Quite on the contrary, i believe we're all kinds of neurodivergents here, which is fine. For most of us (at least, myself) the game can be very therapeutical. And, i think it's not wrong to say, everybody in here is kind of addicted to the dopamines this game produce in our brains.

At this point, i couldn't care less about auctions, in-game itens, etc., i would like to suggest to you to take a few moments of your day to reflect about it: when is it going to stop, where is this path taking you, what are you trying to prove to yourself?...

You have spent more money in a few weeks than what some people take a lifetime to earn through hard work in real life.

It may be nothing for you, but there is this limit where you start to ruin the experience of others. Doesn't that bothers you, not a bit?

Besides that, if you consider the full purpose of this game, it is a grindding game, it feels better to get the good stuff if there was a lot of work and labour envolved into it...

If +C takes some kind of public accountability for the gigantic amount of money "donated" you see "to the shard" and say: now we definitely have sufficient funds to hire some new coder, some new scripter, some new staff member.... using the money to directly improve the experience of all players... those kind of stuff... but as always this start to sound like i'm saying something too mystical or obscure to understand, lol...

You know i am a UOEx lover and faithful player, i want to believe there will be a brighter future for this shard, that is why i am still here.

my post was just me making fun of my rare pixels obsession i posted it before i saw that a new dogpile was forming. just want to be clear im not part of the drama this time.
