I'm pretty sure +C could code items that are Account Bound, to still be account bound after being used as samples. *shrugs* (Meaning the relayer or item changed item, is now account bound.)

Edit Addition :

Correct me if I'm wrong, but can't the Winter Events cape be item changed into an Ultimate Quiver (as well as other items), keeping that back slot item as well as the Cloak of Mist, "Account Bound" after? I do recall seeing someone "Account Bound" Yeti Puppet used to make an account bound relayered shield. (Meaning the mechanics for my suggestion, are already there. It's only a matter of adding permissions to the item/s in question. To force them to be made "Account Bound" before, and after use.)
i relayered a special account bound off-hand sample from old dr who quest and it remained account bound after. same with mistvale cloak i changed the cloak to an ultimate quiver and it also remained account bound.

Well said, John Warren. My salt arrived in my cheating wounds, when I had to pay back what I stole.. Thankfully it was not overwhelming.. but it was enough to sting a bit... Either way, I like the more auctions, more often idea. You as well as others have made it rather understood, that even people who consistently farm gold, will eventually run out. If there where more auctions, more often. It would allow small fries like myself (We prefer Casual Gamers), a chance at auction item ownership.

It would make plenty of sense as well, to have multiple auctions through out the year. A key example, would be someone wants the "New" product that hits the market first. The first in line will pay way more for it, than someone who waited far a year or 2 later before buying it. Video Games, Phones, that sort of thing. I'm such a cheap skate in real life, that I do that very thing.. I wait, get it for way less than if it was fresh on the market scene. (My mother taught me well to sniff out a bargain.. )

So perhaps more auctions would be a better fix, than my previously idea on a Mirror Auction. However, all things are for the Admin to decide. Also, one last thing I would like to point out.. More auctions, would mean rares that are still "Rare".. considering more auctions, does not necessarily mean overflooding the server with items to the point of them not being rare anymore. Provided a broader spectrum can be met by the end of every year, and even the removal of certain items, after a certain point, to no longer be auctioned off again. While new items can be introduced over time.

Past that, I have nothing left to say.. party on dudes!

Why do we have an auction at all?

To remove gold from the economy? - This could be accomplished by adding a gold-only stone that sells auction items for very high gold prices (average or even max of previous auctions) Gold is constantly being removed as people collect the items that they need or want.

This also immediately fixes all problems of buying to re-sell since you'd never go above the stone price. It also makes these items an obtainable goal for newer players or people who can't be around for auctions.

Is it because it's a big community event? If the auction is replaced by a stone that does the same job but better, the time allocated to the grand auction could be used for some other community thing. I've heard people saying that they miss town invasions - not sure what that is, but we could do that instead.

It seems to me that there's a lot of focusing on the problem rather than focusing on a solution (in replies, specifically). I'm not sure if this is just due to the argumentative nature that forums seem to induce in people, or if it's an attempt by people who benefit from the current system to sidetrack conversation to ensure nothing happens except a 6-page post.

thats not an entirely terrible idea
although perhaps for some items while not just being pricey, also want to be kept rare, but then again the price sort of maintains it being rare
but it does engage the community which is a good and important thing

as for town invasions its almost exactly what it sounds like, all the cities in felluca would be considered "invaded" cos they are all filled with monsters
do similar things in trammel from time to time, with a bit of a storyline behind it and some bosses perhaps
the balron king "the butcher of souls" sets his sights on moonglow and sends forth his armies, and you get balrons and generall abyss monsters (succubi, demon, gargs, imps) spawning around moonglow
some people are super overpowered in relayers and maybe +C might have to tweak some numbers of some monsters, but im sure it cant be that hard to create some custom monsters with just re-hued models

You know what? In reference to that stone idea, it is an intelligent idea as well Eremite. Which also reminds me, we have a Token/Gold decoration rooms, that could be expanded on. With items, and even shield/armor/weapon/clothing skins. I could Easly see a Dreadnaught Longsword for like 15+ million being placed up. While still being obtainable through Halloween, from Boss fights. (This is an example, of course.)

It would allow people to strive for a special rare, at there own pace. Which to me, is how video games should be played. (Other people have other opinions on this, but I stick with this one.) Auctions can still be held as a social function, and the amount of them would not have to be increased throughout the year. Provided the Token/Gold stone rooms where expanded apon. Items like the Ancient Yumi, Titans hammer, and specialty weapons and items (Like infinite bard instruments), would still be the main staple of the Grand Auction.

I think the more we look at each others ideas, to see them for what they are, versus an argument to be had. We can come to a mutual agreement that is beneficial to the server we all play. My idea that started this thread, has already been made irrelevant by the ideas that are coming into play right now. (I am 100% fine with this.. progression in the creative ideas put forth, are being made.)

Good ideas. Good thoughts. Lets see if this can be made even more refined people!

Edit Addition : I have no real opinion on town invasions.
