Calan didn’t initiate the post nor did he mention any names in his post.
Has for the personal vendetta part ill only say this; I personally don’t have anything against the 2 person that I have in mind but rather against what I’ll never support and believe is an exploit .My opinion is based on simple logic, that it’s impossible to stay still for 10 hours straight without going afk at some point or another for a long period of time and to do it in a repetitive way.
We could all close our eyes about it and play naïve. That would only leave the door open for more players to exploit unattended weapon leveling, and we all know what happens when a handful of person exploit the systems. Its all the others that pay the price at some point when drastic measures are taken to fix a situation that could have been avoided.
This being said, i will not post anything more on the subject, I’ve said all that I had to say.

My apologies to Calan, I was tired grumpy and more than a little jacked up on percocet right now after my appendectomy so my judgement is worse than usual

No worries on my part. Although I am unsure what the reference to a personal vendetta is aimed towards. What reason would I have to be cross with you? None that I can think of. We have never clashed on anything I am aware of.

I wasnt saying you had a vendetta against me.... and in light of recent events and my current drug induced fogginess of judgement Im just gonna shut my trap before I unintentionally cause more drama.

People who afk level weapons should have the weapon taken away IMO

Which I believe is what the Codex states as to what will happen. The problem is however that we have 100+ players at any given moment within a 24 hours period and only a handful of staff that keeps busy answering the many pages the players submit. That hardly leaves time for them to babysit every player during their time online. Now the ones that are known to everybody and their uncle...

Not to hijack the topic but I've seen certain people pop in and out of 'my' mining cave as well that I do not think were actively managed.
They recall in, mine at insane above human speed, then recall out. If I am near they go invis or just recall out straight away making it difficult to check the names.
Maybe one or two GMs should keep their presence hidden and hunt for the few rotten apples on the shard that are appearantly there

By the sound of it, I'd guess that the name you don't quite see is "Taelwrath," since I do incorporate hiding in my mining script. You do know that there's no rule against euo on this shard, right?
It's a lot easier to check for unattended mining than unattended leveling, but I thought that was already covered somewhere.

No not you
The person in question did not respond, and recalled in every 11 minutes. GM took care of it.

Still, it's really hard to tell if someone is afk or not when they're running a mining script. If you say hi to me it's very possible that I'll already be gone before I can react. That happens sometimes when GMs check on me -- I'll recall away just as they appear, so I have to stop and wait for them to catch up with me again ...
That's mostly all I wanted to say: don't jump to conclusions.

There is a pattern lately of people doing a leveling route that is fairly automated. This seems to consist of recalling into one tile in the midst of a mob, auto targeting and killing with a bow, and then recalling to the next location.
The problem then arises if someone else is already in that the midst of that mob, and is killing something, the person on the route who recalls in is auto targeting the same mob that is already being killed and generally ends up stealing the kill.
If this was happening just once or twice to just myself, I wouldn't mind it but it's been the case on me several times and several of my guild-mates have also had this situation arise. I will recall around on a route myself when leveling, but I don't use auto-targeting macros when I'm doing so.
I just feel it's a little discourteous to not manage your macro in such a way that you end up stealing kills. If players could be mindful of this, I'd appreciate it.
Thanks!

Yea i have to agree, the macros that have people recall and automated killing is kinda annoying. Happens to me alot. Most of the time ill say something to them and they dont reply but people say to pm them and they usually answer so they arent afk. But how do you really know if they are at the keyboard cause they could just turn the sound all the way up and set up their pms to make a sound. Then they just gotta listen for that sound run to the keyboard, answer, and then walk away again. Idk, just my thought.

Why care this much for them being AFK or not, its not your weapon/character that will be downlvled or jailed, so why bother?
(btw GMs dont PM you if you are suspected of AFK weap lvling, so dont worry about the sound thingie)
Macros are boring, and make kill stealing frequent, i'll give you that. But after a while of serious weap lvling, it gets boring and repetitive (and mind numbing too), so the macro really helps lessen the pain.
If there is one thing worth a complaint, is the whole weap. lvling mechanic: while its cool and all, it urges ppl to grind, grind, and grind even more, thats it. The good mobs are a few, the locations are pretty much known to everyone, no wonder kill stealing happens, or macros are used so much.
If anything, XP rewards should be fixed across the board, to create new good/balanced spots. Or add XP rewards from the repetable quests (gravedigger, solen hive, whatever), really anything is good as long as it gives ppl more options..
