Particularly in Fellucca, on an isolated island?
Gameplay should mean if you fail, you suffer significant loss.
yes I have died, a few times, luckily I had the stuck option available at the time.
Although I do believe in some risk in dying (any items that aren't insured), I also play the game because I enjoy it. Not because I risk losing hours and hours worth of time every time I die.
Some people like high risk death, others just want to play a game. Maybe we could have a choice like the old Diablo used to do. So if I die, I experience the current death type that is in the game. But you can choose the hardcore way, where nothing is ever insured, if you die, you lose everything your are wearing.

Actually, yes I did die on a quest in Fel.
(Of course my connection dropping as I dug the chest up was probably the reason.

)

For dying, try sacrifice.
+R....my youngest son had an idea for the treasure chests: he thinks an armor stand/display would be cool. You would have to collect 5-7 pieces in the 1-2 level chests, maybe each piece is account bound, but the end result can be sold.
This idea came about when he made an armor stand in a game he plays and asked me if UO had one. When I said no, it occurred to me that the Decorative Armor we get is ok, but you cannot personalize it, cannot even turn it. Shucks, I would be over the moon with a "Turn Item" deed. So....there's that.
Love the T-Chests

I have a couple suggestions,
1. the amount of junk in the chests is annoyingly overwhelming. About 90 items in a devious chest. If you actually go through all the loot and trash everything it takes forever. My suggestion for a solution would be, a. remove all spell scrolls as they provide the most amount of clutter so you can't see what is in there, or b. make it possible to move things around in the chest so you can sort through inside the chest.
2. Maybe slightly increase the drop rate for ingenious (level 6) treasure maps in a devious chest? It was a lot higher at the beginning I'm pretty sure, and now I rarely get a ingenious anymore. If level 6 maps are fairly rare, I can't imagine ever receiving a level 7 or 8 map, especially due to them only dropping in a felucca level 6 chests.
Other than those two things, I've completed about 200 chests now, and had a lot of fun doing them

How about for lvl 6-8 maps, we add in gargoyle tools prospector tools and possibly runic kits as well. spice up the clutter in the chest with some good finds. I personally sort every chest (my trashbag is tired, and I miss the "empty trash" gump

) finding tools and kits would be awesome though.
