How long can a pet stay in the stable before the stablemaster sells it off as unclaimed?

The current NPC text says 1week, but I wanted to see if anyone can confirm that, as 1week isnt very long if you go on holiday or something... Wouldnt want my pet to go *poof* while away

official info: even tho the stabler says he will sell it, i suppose they forgot to implement this part, so your pet is safe there. I've had a pet stabled back since march 2006 (when we were doing first tests on the breeding system).
