Pardon my ignorance as housing isn't my forte but with all the open areas that now exist due to the new facet why is the cost of a castle spot 2 mil gold? There's probably 50 open spots for a castle...so what makes this spot special?

It's a starting point to your personal town.

The castle is at the single access to the area, most of the area is open for additional housing and you can likely convince the other folks there to relocate to other plentiful space.
