New Items?

Can new items be made for the server? Like graphically, if I could make something? More decorative options for example. I've never done it, but I'm immensely curious and have a bunch of spare time due to the situation, so I'd love to offer something to the game like that.

UO graphics are client side. They have to be made on the client and then everybody has to get a new client with the new graphics before the server can be adjusted to use them. There are tools on the Internet for patching the client with new graphics. Google "gaechtis"
Past GMs have made custom items for the client and they're in the one you downloaded. I would imagine that new graphics would be welcome if you do all the legwork.
One hitch you should know about: the client software is old and a little fragile in terms of how it uses memory before crashing. Adding new graphics probably means identifying old graphics that can be removed. That's much harder than just adding graphics.
