Excelsior

I started playing Ultima online back in 2000s and played on a server called Neverlands.
I played with friends in Highschool and it was great.
THe server one day dissappeared and out of no where, leaving so many of us without somewhere to call home.

I tried many servers, and in 2011 came across Excelsior.

It wasn't quite the same as Neverlands, and so many things annoyed me, but was was amazing was the communinty.
I remember logging in and there was always GMs on, staff on, things were getting updated and it was fun.

Over time, C+ Launched uoex Radio, and I was honoured to be a DJ on this.

DJPaulus and the "Thunder from down under hour" ... and had to much fun.

But over time, work, life and otherthings got in the way, and I got generally burned out from UO and decided to take a break.

I've been back once or twice since then, and been refreshing my house, but I don't have that itch or desire to come back, I work, I have another game I play, and I am a content creator streamer on the side too.

So I won't be refreshing my house, if you find it and you're lucky enough when it falls, there's so much good stuff in there back from the 2011+ era that you'll love it.

BIg thank you to Bubba and +C, i was sad to learn of Rosa's passing.

Thank you to everyone who made this an amazing community, so much has changed in technology over the years, and I love the fact this server is still standing.

i wasnt around for the first run of uoex radio but i loved its rebirth and all the hanging out we did during broadcasts first at the nujelm radio station and then finally at skara brae radio station

Can't believe this is a goodbye. It was a wonderful time! loved your radio show! the adds, the music everything! you were part of this community and such a great part of it! Whatever your next quest may be I sincerely want to extend my gratitude towards what you did on this shard!

+Nyx and +Veritas's random Wednesday and Friday night live quests, and DJPaulus playing in the background, was some really awesome evenings. It was great listening to your music style while running through random areas of the map.

But..I hear you my man. I am no sprout anymore. My daughter is now older than me when I first started playing UO lol. I find myself logging twice a month. Once to keep the house fresh, and once to get a vet award. I continue to log in, not just to keep the house, but to keep the memories alive of those days of random live quests, hunting seasons, and yearly quests that always seemed to get the best of me

There's an old colibrian saying: "nostalgia is just composted reality". Sometimes the memories of a time is better, and more necessary to relive in memory and imagination, than to repeat with one's senses.
