Something I hadnt thought about when I started playing, is the ability to use thigs others have gotten for vet rewards....
I traded a skeletal steed, for a charger of the fallen. skeltal was the only ethy I had, but I saw several others riding them around that werent much older than I was, so didnt even think about it, until later that day when i went to head into fel, and the Charger told me I could not ride it for another ten months.... Wonderful. I complained to the guy, and was told, wasnt his problem...
True, its not, but it would have been nice to have been informed of the VET status on the charger, which is why he wanted to trade me so badly in the first place, he couldnt ride it either...
SO!!!!! Now I have no Ethy to ride... I find one, 1 mil gold, cheaper than buying it for 500k tokens, its a good deal!!! Its a plain horse, the one you get from the token stone, saved myself 500k. right?
Nope, i click on it, and it tells me i cant ride it for 2 months ... at this point im pretty ticked off, now i have several mil invested in cute little useless statues. If I had thrown the sleletal in the trash and just bought one from the token stone I would have been WAY ahead of the game.
I would greatly appriciate it if these things recieved a label that they were VET rewards!!!!!! Thus saving anyone else from getting ripped off. The first time, i wrote it off, but the second time, thats just so wrong im having a hard time not swearing, and I dont swear!
I could SCAM someone else like I was scammed, but im not going to do that, ive marked them both down as VERY expencive mistakes due to being ignorant, and trusting.
So, Heres your warning, when someone offers you an Ethy, and it seems like a grerat deal? Just put that person on your ignore list, and make a note that they are a liar and a scammer.

how old is your account? I know I got the option for them quite early in my shard life, maybe the actual reward ones are lower than the one from the stone? I have an ethy kirin you're welcome to try if you wish, just pm me, I'm training pets.

Hmm, not such a fair thing to say b/c I have given ethy's to people before, but of course i make sure they are the account age to use them. BUT the other side of that is, its always best to check into it first before buying. i dont know if im remembering it wrong but i thought there was a dealer who sold a basic ethy's... hmm, i might just be tired, heh.

Anyways, sorry that happened to you and yeah it would have been nice for him to tell you first, i always do in the PM convo before i even meet for a sale. OR i tell them to meet me to test if they can use it first (and could bring a witness to this too).

Has anyone checked the ones on the token stone to see if they lack the age requirement?

You should get the reward gump after your first 30 days, and again at 60 if you use the first one.

If you don't tell us who scammed you, then you perpetuate the problem. For a non-PVP shard, there's an awful lot of bad behavior that's tolerated. To stop it, you have to tell us who's doing it. Sorry to hear you were scammed, hope you'll try to prevent the same person from doing it to someone else.

actually i think it's pretty counter productive to say who did it. the whole point is to be smart with anyone you deal with. yeah i think punishment is lack here, but still, there is nothing good that comes out of selling names. when you start naming it becomes a talk show. be smart with anyone you deal with if you dont know them well, thats my opinion.

Aye, I didnt name names for a reason very similar to what Llexa said, the last thing Coli or the other staff need is a flame war. I was the Idiot that accepted the trades. However, I posted it because it never occured to me, that they would be account/time limited, and if it happened to me I am pretty sure it will happen to others, hopefully one person will read this and be smarter than i was by learning from my stupidity.
I convinced the second person to return the money, and traded them back the ethy, and Black Death Donated a Ethy to me, which i will return to him as soon as I get the tokens together to buy my own.

you dont have to return anything when you get tokens donation means to give without anything in return kp =D
