Guild? What's in it for me?

Recently, I've been asked to join a few guilds. I said I wasn't sure for a few reasons:
A. I'm not done building up my character the way I want to, and I've been having a great time by myself on the shard.
B. I'm not sure what guilds really do around here.

Can anyone respond to why, or why not, you would want to join a Guild.

Thanks.

Skade

There's really not a good reason to do it. It has some negatives, and unless they're offering something specific the only good things you'll get are possible dye tub(if they have one) uses, and a new chat channel.

Guilds are only good for company. You get to meet people with something to teach and even skills you still don't have. And, with the right people, even have fun at the guild chat. Not much more to it than that...Company and friends.

Edited: just thought of something else: you can also do PvP with guil mates.

Thanks. The aspect of company and freinds sounds great, and the chance to learn more abilities is also great. It would be fun to go on Guild quests for *whatever* I would want to find a Guild that sort of lined up with the same character goals and philosophies that I have.
thanks for responding.

I'v been on this shard for a little over a month, and I love it here.

Be careful who you guild with, there are negatives I'd rather not post about on the forums other than just name association. If you want to PM me in game that's fine, I'd just rather not give people ideas.

some guilds get Too good , and get all members listed as rebelious so another thing to keep in mind when you do if you do choos a guild, regardless of the players own actions^^

I'm not in a guild in this game but have been in others. However I've found as a general rule of thumb to get to know people for an extended period of time before excepting an invite. They shouldn't have a problem with you telling them you want to know them and them you before excepting.
