Would it be possible to make an item that was sold on a gold or token stone, that when used, gives you the hue of the targeted item? Put a few uses it on it, maybe 5, but somewhat expensive. I think this would help out quite a bit, probably save a GM being paged too.

Despite just starting only a week ago and being rather poor, I think its a great idea..

That would probably be much better than the uni-tub ordeal. 150k for one hue, on one item is way out of my price range. That's the kind of thing I'd have to bust my rear for 6 months to collect enough cash to toss around like that.

Maybe they could even adjust so that the uni-tubs are like 50k, 5 uses.. and offer select hues for select prices.. as in, plains 10k, metallics, 25k, glossy 50k.. etc?

It'd just be nice for newer players to be able to use some of the new hues. Not even my 3 story custom house cost that much.

It's out of your price range now, but eventually you'll have enough gold to have a few tubs. I usually just buy the tubs and lock them down in my house, waiting for the day I might use it. I wish they were more than one use but meh, it keeps you getting gold for each one time use so whatever, gold sinks ftw.

I mainly brought this up to save a GM some time as well as make it easier for a player to know what different hues are OUTSIDE of the hue room, because we (the users of uni-tubs) know that what shows up on the statue is not the same color that'll show up on your robe/cloak/mule/horse/steed/piece of crystal/tree/dragon/cu-side/wall/whatever.

Definitely not taking anything from the system now, I'm just merely stating that it might be more beneficial for newer players to be able to use a select few of the custom hues without paying out the wazoo for them.

All shards face one problem more than anything:

Finding incentives to maintain player activeness.

Coming from my own personal 4 year experience in staffing shards and running my own, I can say that adding neat little things like that always help.

Of course, no one can expect to join and have everything handed to them..

But granting the ability to achieve that small "slice of the pie", (within reasonable financial ability), would certainly benefit. This shard is considered a family shard, correct? Then that would mean that a lot of children, young teens, etc play here (which I've noticed ). So a lot of kids aren't all about running out and butchering things to make money.

This is probably more of a suggestion type reply.. but it can also be considered a modification of yours

I think you misunderstood (or I did), but didn't the OP mean that he wants there to be an item that TELLS you what hue something is 5 times, not an item that dyes something the same hue as something else 5 times?

Because if so....I think it's a great idea, and I've also suggested this a few times to various staffers. I've had some really nice colors that I really didn't want to search through 2000 options again for, and have had to call for GMs in those cases to identify the hue number for me. An item that tells me the hue number of something would be a great asset. I don't think it would need a limit on uses though...just make the original price somewhat hefty....like 30,000 tokens or something.

Aah re-reading it now, yea.. it actually makes sense. I remember thinking when I first read this (at 5am), that something wasn't making sense..
