Last night I had a set of wood keys up and disappear from my backpack. Of all things quite a bummer considering the cost of the item and the time it took to collect all the wood in there.
Anyhow here is what happened:
I was in the cave e of Mook Town mining and Tinkering at the time. Mine.. mine.. mine.. 1000 ingots. . then making candelabras to raise Tinkering. Filled up my backpack with candelabras then moved them to my trash backpack. After clearing out all the candleabras my set of wood keys was gone!! Check in the backpack. . not there. Could have accidentally been recycled but I'm pretty sure I would not have missed picking them up and moving them into the backpack.
Couldn't have been stolen as the item was insured.

heheh I have thrown so many things away by accident making items and trashing them. especially rune books. You think you might noticed but when you get dragging like 50 things to the can and you are just grabbing you sometimes do not realize you actually trashed something important. Trust me I have done it many times! 
Speaking of trashing never set a macro to trash something you might own like armor or bows or weps. I set one at a pt to BOD the plate arms and OFF went the pair on my arms into the bod I almost cried i was so angry i left UO for 3 days.
