Curious about lving wep and if you kill with the hit area affect will that count towards your kill or is it considered a spell which doesn't allow for experience gain? Also if it is considered a spell will it work once you get to 50 since pets can attribute. Thanks.

I can't swear to it but I think area effects count.

I'm almost positive that all area effects count as spells and thus the wep doesn't receive XP.

Just tested it using my Blaze of Death on a Rotting Corpse with skeletons surrounding me. Hit Area effects definitely give you experience, as well as any of the Hit Spells on weapons.

Thank you as this is useful. I will keep that in mind for my wep.
