For at least resist you need to be guilded, command them "all guard" then cast clumsy on them. For magery you have to use "all kill", this works with mules and probably everything else that uses magery. I had a noble sit in the training room for an hour trying to get above 53.? magery before I gave up, Might be something else I'm missing tho, someone will correct me if I'm wrong ;)

Nobles do not cast spells so they will not gain magery

Are you sure nobles don't use magery? All of mine show some level, anywhere from 50's to 80's atm..If they -don't- cast spells why do they have the skills?

No idea why they have magery when they do not use the skill at all (my guess is they were just copied from something like nightmares).

The firebreath attack is not based on magery, only the current hp of the noble (gives you extra reason to get 1.1k hp nobles and keep them healed up!)

I believe magery skill can mitigate damage from certain attacks, so it's useful defensively.
