Introductions and Salutations

Allow me to introduce myself. My typical alias is Wordpoet or at least for most things in life. Wordpoet is a name I took on many years ago when I was writing poetry. At that time a search in Google would only display links to me or my site but alas it seems the name has grown in popularity over the years and I have been relegated to cellar of the search engine. Still it is the alias that has stayed with me over the years and I feel rather attached to that one. On a personal note you can find my site by that very name, Wordpoet.Ca. This site is dedicated to my photographic hobby and also contains some of my poetry which was written in the past. As it does not conflict with, or challenge, this shard for users I trust you will forgive me the indulgence just this once in mentioning the site.
The name Shaladar, as I've used here in the forums, was the name of my very first Ultima Online character, a tradesman and crafter by choice. It was a name that I continue to use as a my craftsman whenever I decide to create such a persona. As yet I have not done so on this site. I remember my first steps into the world that was Ultima Online and the overwhelming sense of adventure that it contained and I remember doing it with Shaladar.
I have also been known by the name Va'Lor Ravenclaw. This name I use in relation to my Ranger. He is a man of the woods, more comfortable with woodland creatures than with people but when approached he will be socialable. He is also helpful to those who befriend him. In general, throughout his travels, he will work hard to right wrongs and protect the weak. He does not fear death but he is also not foolish enough to court it in situations where he is so obviously outmatched. Tactical retreat is a part of his arsenal, often separating a monster from the group or leaving the battle behind when alone if necessary, but he will come back when in a stronger position to once again challenge the evil that forced him away. Va'Lor does not normally indulge in petty squabbles but instead prefers to rid the land of the bothersome monsters which inhabit it. His interaction with humans is often as a guard, protector or hired help on adventures to dungeons and lairs as this allows him to earn his way in life while doing what he likes best, killing monsters.
With that said I will leave you to learn more of my character in game or in the forums but I do appreciate you taking the time to read this piece. For now at least I bid you all farewell.
