Greetings, my name is Dedra, I am a new member of this shard and thought I would say a simple hello in hopes of getting to know some of you.
I don’t know anyone who plays this shard and I tend to make friends slowly due to a shy personality.
I do hope I like it here , and that I get a chance to meet some of the members of this shard.
Any advice for a newbie like myself is welcome, I know next to nothing about this world or this shard and tend to just wander aimlessly.
I have browsed the forum and noticed there are tons of things that I don’t know about.
DNA is among them.
Either way *waves* Hello everyone I hope to see you all in the world :)

Welcome to the shard. There's a ton of information available both on line and through otehr players.Best action you can take? Ask someone if you get stuck or confused on something. And take your time and have fun.Seriously there's alot going on in this game.It can be a real pain to cram all you can into your head.I've bee playing this game for over 7 years now and I still learn things.Alot of it is custom stuff to the shard, but still...its a learning process. So have fun with it.Ask questions.Read the guides.Good Luck!

Welcome :)
To introduce myself, i'm the "ancient admin", my name is Matthew and i'm 21.
First place id check is uoex.net/guides and the forum has lots of info aswell -> sections "Newbie help" and "Development log".
Most of the things are learned thru playing, so i guess other players know best about how things are done.

Enjoy the shard :)

As with almost any shard I suppose I'd recommend starting with your animal taming. Get your skills up so you can get some better pets. Also get your spirit speak up and you can cast the cleric spells accessible through typing "I pray to the gods" in game.

With those 2 things you can have a good base to help get your gold up and from there you can get moving with whatever goals you set for yourself.

Thank you everyone for the welcome :)
I would never have thought of starting with animal taming, what I remember of animal taming from OSI was that it is wretched to raise and I spent years ( hours) tameing bulls just to get one point raise.
I am not all that familuar with custom things that are often the norm on freeshards.
a few questions I have are
are there custom metals/leathers/woods?
I also have heard of something called evo dragons or something, do they exist on this shard? if not can some one tell me what they are at least :)
Oh and one more thing, how many pets can a person have in a stable?
Sorry if these are answered some where else on the forums
and thank you for your time :)

First off, welcome Dedra! I'm not around much these days, largely thanks to school, but welcome all the same!

Now then, taming here is indeed the best way I can think of to start off, and the gains are much much better than OSI. You can use the taming forest, which has a teleporter in the world teleporters, or alternatively, it is the forest north and east of Yew. The only think you'll have to watch out for are the frenzied ostards that roam around in the woods there too.

There are custom ores/metals/woods which all have there own unique properties. There are also custom gargoyle's tools to harvest the custom wood/leather in much the same way gargy pickaxes work with ore.

Now Evo Dragons....they do not exist here and the powers that be have been rather adamant that they will not exist here. They can be rather powerful and so can upset the balance of the game. That said, to explain what they are, and I'm going off of second hand knowledge here as I've never personally dealt with them. But, you get an egg and it hatches into a baby reptile of some sort, such as a snake. Through time and training it will EVOlve (hence the name "evo") and grow into progessively more powerful pets until it ultimately becomes an ancient wyrm or something to that effect.

Lastly, as for how many pets you can have in the stable...it is directly related to your taming skill just like on OSI. Max of 5 I believe...though since you can shrink pets on this shard (by use of shrinking potions or pet leashes) I only keep one pet in the stable and that's because that pet is a bio-engineered pet and those particular kinds of pets will not shrink.

Hope that got ya a little more set, and good luck!

Once you get animal taming to 60 you can start raising it via rare pet dyes, you make them by getting a brush off an animal tamer and combining dyes and bottles.

You can use pet dyes all the way to 100 skill. Just check the minimum skill and when you have a chance to make the next harder one start trying to make those.

Welcome to the shard. Like the man said before taming here is easier to raise than on OSI. It can go fast if you make the dyes. But that cost gold to do, and is not necessary. A Tamer with a good pet is probably the quickest way to make some gold to support what ever else you want to do.
Crafting here offers a lot to do too. You can get taming bods, carpenter bods, bowcrafting bods, tailor bods, and blacksmith bods. You can also breed your pets to improve their stats. So with breeding you can have a dragon or nightmare with 1k hit points and 1k strength.
You can also bio-engineer a pet with the DNA thing you mentioned. With this in mind there is no need for Evos here. There is also no skill cap so you can train every skill if you want.
When your skill in taming is high, come see me ingame and I will hook you up with a good pet to hunt with. My main char name is Wizzer. See you in game.
