In light of the recent (and profuse) gripes that there isn't enough content for new players, +Nyx decided to modify her plans for Mistvale (the new-player city). The city will still open when she and +Colibri have time to finish it up, but since that could be months and months, she decided to open the dungeons she'd already made for young players, and add the quests she'd had on her list.
Contents
Where to Go
Various citizens of Mistvale have taken up residence in a large building outside of Excelsior Halls. Take the Excelsior Halls teleporter, then run west along the path until you are outside of the city walls. The building is along the path. Step into the sparkles to be moved inside. Please note that only players over 21 days' account age and under 120 days of account age are able to / allowed to access this area. This includes all of the quests and dungeons.
The Quests
These quests are available only to young players. Say "Hail" to any of the quest NPCs to activate their dialogue. You may need to say the keyword a few times in order to properly trigger the NPC.
Account Recovery Notice: You may not keep Mistvale armor or weapon items after an account recovery. Players requesting an account recovery after having completed any Mistvale armaments quest will have those items removed upon recovery of their previous account. No Mistvale armor or weapon items will carry over after the recovery. Mistvale armor/weapon items that were sold prior to the account recovery will have their sale value charged as part of the recovery process.
Mistvale Armaments Armor Set
There is an entirely unique armor set available via 9 quests, a pre-GoC set that should help young players with their progression. These pieces cannot be relayered or sampled, but are designed to sit in slots that will be helpful as you progress. Speak to Thaddeus along the west wall of the building to get started.
You can only run one of the Armaments quests at a time. You will need to select one, finish it, and then begin the next. Please see below for information on resolving issues with these quests.
There are 9 total quests in the Armaments line.
Note: You must complete all of the quests on the same character in order to progress successfully. You may only run each quest once per account, and the credit for completing the quests is not shared across characters.

Troubleshooting: Armaments Quests
Mistvale Apiculture
This is repeatable quest to assist young players with the upkeep of their bees. It may be completed once per week. This quest may be completed in tandem with the Armaments, Sash, Cloak, and Reaper quests.
To begin, say 'hail' to Talia. You will be asked to collect 1800 plain wood and 250 ingots in the first step. Next, you will deliver various packages to Mages in Trammel.
Mistvale Monster Contracts
This is a repeatable quest that rewards the player with gold. It may be repeated every 7 days and may be completed in tandem with the Armaments, Sash, Cloak, and Reaper quests.
This quest is highly dynamic. To begin, say 'hail' to Ilene. You will receive a contract to kill a specific type of monster. If you complete that quest book before it decays, you will receive another contract that is slightly harder. You can complete up to 4 books per week. Each book decays after 2 days. Each book you turn in will result in a reward of gold, increasing with the difficulty of the contract. This quest is randomized, meaning that from week to week the monsters you need to kill will change. ALL monsters needed for every contract spawn inside the 5 young-player dungeons.
NOTE: If you have already completed a book in this quest, you cannot complete it again for 7 days. If you obtain another book before your 7 days is up, you will not be able to fulfill the requirements. The kill counter will not change, and you will have to delete the quest book.
Mistvale Merchantile
Assist Mistvale's foremost merchant and receive an item bless deed. This quest can be repeated every 2 weeks and may be completed in tandem with the Armaments, Sash, Cloak, and Reaper quests.
To begin, say 'hail' to Quinn. You will first be asked to collect 4,000 each of Ash, Zircote, Yew, Ebony, and Oak boards. Then you will collect 4,000 each of Regular, Spined, Horned, Barbed and Daemonic leathers.
NOTE: If you delete the book without turning it in, you will not be able to acquire another until the full 2 weeks have elapsed.
Daemonic Deeds
If you would like some help gathering Daemonic leather, speak to Marina the Master Mage along the North wall of the building. Say 'hail' to her to begin the quest. She will ask you to collect regular leather and vials of daemonic blood. These vials may be found on the corpses of Daemons, Balrons, and lich lords inside any of the Mistvale dungeons.
NOTE: You can repeat this quest as many times as you want, but you can only receive the quest if you are currently working on the Mistvale Merchantile quest. You will not be able to receive or complete this quest when not working on the Merchantile quest or during cooldown periods for the Merchantile quest.
Trader's Troubles
Violet the Trader is getting on in years and can no longer continue the constant travel required to maintain her trade business. She's heard about the Excelsior Postal system, and would like your help in getting set up to send and receive mail, which will eliminate her need to travel.
Say "Hail" to Violet to begin this quest. This quest cannot be repeated.
This quest will take you to various useful/important shard locations that you may not have been to or heard about previously. At completion, the quest will reward you with some gold as well as your own address book, pre-filled with 20 scrolls and 20 wax.
For more information about the Excelsior Postal System, please see: http://uoex.net/wiki/Postal_System
The Dungeons
To access any of the new dungeons, step into the sparkles along the North wall of the Safe Haven building. You will be teleported into a nearby building that holds gates to each dungeon. Click on the gate to find out the name of the dungeon.
All mobs in every dungeon give bonus weapon XP, currently 2x higher than their regular counterparts.
When you enter one of these dungeons, the area immediately surrounding the exit portal is a safe zone. No difficult mobs can be dragged into these areas. If they are dragged near the safe zone, they will be deleted and will respawn according to their usual spawn timer.
Hiding & invisibility are completely disabled in all of the Mistvale dungeons. If you discover a way to hide or invis while inside, you must report it to the staff immediately.
Aelwic
This dungeon utilizes the empty duplicate of the Citadel in Magda and spawns mostly undead and evil mages.
The Forgotten Crypts
Using the Fan Dancer's dupe, this dungeon is nearly all undead, including a few balrons.
Nimre
In the Labyrinth dupe, Nimre is primarily undead and elementals, it also holds several balron spawns.
The Nameless Ruins
In the Bedlam dupe, this one houses undead.
Thilon Mines
Mainly features elementals, hell hounds, and hell cats.
Rules
- You may not keep Mistvale armor or weapon items after an account recovery.
- You may not share quest items in any way, shape, or form. Doing so is an exploit and punishable by confiscation if items, removal of Mistvale access, and jail.
- If the staff find that an older player has purposefully gained access to any of these areas - the safe haven, the dungeon building, or any of the individual dungeons themselves - there will be dire consequences to be determined at that time.
- All quests that are listed as non-repeatable are meant to be such. If you stumble upon a way to run these quests multiple times, you must report it or face heavy punishment for exploiting.
- If you are a returning player and purchase an account recovery, you will not be permitted to access Mistvale.
- If you are given jail tasks for a 2nd or higher AFK offense, you will lose Mistvale privileges.
