Ho yah, as a merchant that buys and sells items on a regular base, I tend to know going prices of them. And as one of the things I prefer in this game is to help others, I will tell players that ask for a PC in general chat. But I wont pass any negative jugement if one player is asking more than the going price on an item. Free market rule will make it that he will either stay stuck with his item or lower his price. :D

Well imo, ingots is completely an other story. The most i could ever mine in an hour is 1 or 2 k of ingots. Now at 10 per, it's not fair for the player to use an hour of his time and get 20k as a reward. I can name you several activities that will produce earnings of 300-400k an hour.

Farming oinments for one. It is really easy to get 25+ oinments an hour in different fel dungeons. Also, marking all the spots with balrons and running the trail with good pets will make you earn 250-400k an hour as well.

To be at par with several other activities that can be done on the shard, the fair price of ingots should be at least 100 per. So yah, it is almost impossible to buy iron ingots as they are underpaid alot. At the moment, I buy ingots at 15k per and sell them at 18 on my vendors, and even at that price, it is impossible to keep stocked. The solution would probably to offer alot more per, lets say 25 or 30, and then sell like with a 15% profit. I guarantee that this action would put back miners near the mountains of Britannia; but I would have all the Holy Keepers of Excelsior with torches and forks in front of my shop, ready to hang me :displeased:

Fury: I'll quote myself: "2m minimum, no lower than that".

And to all others: Everything is going up in prices because when prices go up -> people actually do have more money(well at least those that actually do something in the game). Getting money now is not a problem with high prices, it's just normal money circling. If prices were lower, sure you wouldn't need to make so much money but then again you wouldn't gain it either for those stuff that actually are pricy.

I would sell this lower than 2m for sure if everything else had lower price tag on them as well but as you all see it's not like that atm and for that reason I will sell this for high price. I will not be the first one to lower prices and I just bought animal lore 120 for 1.5m and didn't cry about it. I got money, now that person has money, no he can buy something from someone with high price and not cry about it..

Have a nice weekend and think about those words. Life is... you need to adapt.

Edited; (changed my mind in mid argument) It does take time to mine, comparing time wise. no, it isnt worth it. you cant compare mining, or lumberjacking to hunting at all, there is no comparing them as far as income.. usually mining involves occasionally digging up crafting gems which were the only place to get them on most shards, this added to the benefit and income of a miner. "Some" shards also added in token loot checks as a random incentive as well.. they also had many different uses for ingots and crafting.. mining in those places is much more lucrative and rewarding.. here everything is geared toward hunting, so mining is left lacking.. lumberjacking you still get the "special" crafting items, bark fragments fungus etc.. but it has limited uses of dubious value. I was all prepared to argue with you, but sitting and thinking about it have revealed ot me, that you are exactly correct, and from this point forward, every time someone screams at me for asking 18 ea for my IRON I am going to referance this thread and point at you,,,,, Thus avoiding COMPLETELY;;

but I would have all the Holy Keepers of Excelsior with torches and forks in front of my shop, ready to hang me

i will be vindicated, exonerated, and maybe, hailed as a hero!!!

Yup... its no surprise that iron is in demand.

A new player with absolutely no skill could probably make just as much doing escorts.

It is funny that you say that, because just a few hours ago, I met a young player that had 1k iron ingots. After buying his ingots, I equipped him and gave him a blue beetle with 1k hits and something like 600 strenght. Then he came back to me to sell me an other k of ingots at my shop. While he was going away, i told him to escort that npc in front of the shop. He was like "WOW! Easy money!"

Yeah... I think you can make like 900 gp just by clicking on the teleportal :)

Not bad when you consider some of the prices of things.

Anyone with 20 bee hives can make a mil a week with just a few minutes of minimal-effort play per day. Prior to that, taking escorts in between training skills and stats gets you the lower-level startup money for building a house and such, or at least a mid-level pet to hunt with. You don't even need to do the noob organics quest to start off fairly well here.

So I tend to roll my eyes a bit when people moan over the high price of things.

Nonetheless, I haven't raised any of my ingot prices one bit since I first started my vendors around six months ago. Nor do I intend to.

On topic, though: I think 2 mil is a bit steep for 120 taming. I don't remember ever spending more than a mil on any of the several free shards I've played. That doesn't mean that someone won't pay it, though

Yeah... we did get of track there a bit :)

I would not pay 2m for the ps or suggest that as the starting or min price if selling it. Not to say i would not take it if someone offered :)

I have seen so crazy stuff go for 10m at the auction so I wouldn't be surprised if now, when PS's are more rare, it would go for more than 2m. So if no one want to offer even that for this, you will see it at next auction.

As Polar Bear said, this is a luxury item and will be sold for high price for someone who really wants to have 120 taming. This is not for everyone.

And like someone said.. money is easy to gain.. which is NOT a lie. So if even a noob could gain the money to buy this in a week or two, some medium-pro player who still doesn't have this can already hand the money out from his pocket(pocket money).

I don't even have 120 taming myself but I rather sell it because I still don't have 5 nobles. 5 good nobles cost around 1.5m or more. 1 good noble is approx 300k.. Isn't that overpriced? Once you get into breeding them(you need 2, female and male), you have new ones out every 3 days.. I'm now breeding nightmares and it's ridiculously easy money and I'm not even selling those with maximum profit. The reason why I'm selling those for less is that it's so easy to get more of them to sell. I only have 1 animal taming 120 scroll.... Haven't seen more.... You could say you get 120 animal taming easily by doing bods but I haven't been so lucky and I haven't seen too many selling 120 taming ps's even though someone earlier said here he is selling those for 700k which I think is bull..... because I'm online every free minute of my day.

have you thought the reason prices went up is the supply is low, demand is high, AND population of the shard is growing. more gold is out there. i have a vendor who sells dirt cheap for new player stuff. low end stats. but if i sell a lot of that i get more gold. actually right now i make about 500k a day. so in 4 days i can just buy one. i'm not the only one with a vendor remember. they also buy one from the same person (if they have one) that person has 8 mil to just play with and raise auctions or bids in here. thats why you'll find things like ps animal lore 120 for 2 mil. which is reasonable. now if i was smart with a ps bag i would charge a little fee to make ps for people but they need to provide everything. say like charge 1mil half the price of the people without. :) but then again this is just my opion.
