I was curious if it was possible to fix some things.I brought this up in a previous topic.But, i will try again!
1)Alot of the special moves on elf weapons are null.Could they be added or replaced with the special moves already used today?
2)Ninjitsu animals forms spell- 90% of the forms do nothing.

are slayer spellbooks still broken too? Magery is way under used on this shard, with pets and melee being so powerful. fixing slayer spellbooks, or even adding levelable spellbooks, might bring one of the old true fighting professions back.
*just realized the issue with spells and levelable items, since it isn't just so easy to make spellbooks levelable, without change how leveling works with spell damage. but still it's something that would be cool to see.

Another problem with having levelable spellbooks is having a level 100 Omni Magis Spellbook. It would likely be considered too overpowered. If they are to restrict that from being levelable then I'm all for levelable spellbooks.

I can't see it being overpowered either, and it could make it a useful item without having to relayer it. Really, does anyone use it as a normal spellbook now?

OKay now I know for sure that I am lost on this server. I use spells all the time for various reasons but very much in battle. I am even sinking money into SDI property items in order to continue this. The balance I see is that I never have to repair a spell book or repair any spells. With an LRC suit of 100% the object I was going for was 100% free damage with 0 investment or repair costs.
AM I doing myself a serious disservice by counting on spells just as much if not more then my weapon?
IMO: Most used spell = Recall.

I wanted to have a mage character when i started here, was a painful road, and finally learned that weapons were the way to go.
Couple of main reasons for it.
-Levelable weapons - you can't level them with mage spells and they are the best items in the game.
-Hit effects on weapons. life leech, mana leech. all the other goodies. you don't get casting spells.
-Slayer spellbooks don't work. Slayer weapons do. I just tested the spellbook out again..just in cause, it didn't work.
-helping spells for weapons, enemy of one, consecrate weapon, etc etc etc. magery you get what you cast, a couple spells do help increase damage, but not like with weapons.
I really don't know if it is possible to get to the 300% damage cap of magery. Never heard anyone talk about it. but i am curious.
Didn't mean to crush your dreams on your chosen path, but i see magery to be nothing more then a handful of utility spells and nothing more. Not the true noble profession it once was.

yeah some of the specials are really cool poison arrow, snake and so forth are very cool specials. ah well.

i use sacred journey from a rune book to recall. if you recall from fel you lose all your mana and it affects your mana regen. if you use sacred journey it doesn't affect your mana at all.
easy to use. open rune book turn to the page that the place you want to go. click the blue diamond near sacred journey. important ones are bound to a hot key.
second most used magery spell: protection, bless, poison field, and teleport. i do not use (on a regular basis) any other magery spells. yes i think magery is underpowered.
why make a class when you can have everything?
