2 hands sword change to one hand maul

Can some veteran give me some advice?
I had a level 87 two hands sword - Darken Sky and I want to change to one hand maul because I can get the benefit from a shield. Moreover, when I change to angel form, the mace skill will raise by 20.
1. Is it worth to spend 200ED to change?
2. What kind of one hand maul should be changed to in considering the primary and secondary skill?

You could change it into a war mace, which I believe has 16-17 weapon damage and uses the special ability crushing blow, which is one of the best abilities. That weapon swings pretty slow though, so make sure you have some SSI gear on.

first changing it from 2 handed to a 1 handed weapon costs 500 eds. second if you want to change the type of the weapon specials and all would cost an extra 200 eds. if you just want the weapon to look like another type of weapon but the specials will not work will only cost you 500 eds and 100 eds. so your call 700 eds or 600 eds.

not a maul fan. erm.. here's what i normally do. i look at the primary and secondary list of weapons. then i chose from there. hope that help a tiny bit. sorry i'm more of a halberd fan because of the whirlwind attack and the high base (18-19) for attack, but that's just me.

Seriously Anarchy? I turned a hammer pic (one handed) into a yumi (two handed) for 200 ED. Wouldn't the reverse work as well? I thought it was 500 ED to make a bow one handed but still act like a bow...

yes that's because you were going for a different weapon entirely. if the weapon was originally a 2 handed weapon you see you couldn't go from a 1 handed maul to a 1 handed yumi. you can only go to the original slots.

oh wait. is the maul 1 handed. then you could probably do that for 200 eds. my fault.

Riiiiight. Well, Rock, if you want, I have a Berserker's Maul I'll sell you for cheap =) It's a nice weapon with fast swing speed and crushing blow, although you'd have to pay 200 ED to strip it's artie tag to get the full benefit out of leveling it. Let me know if you are interested. I love that maul!

Thanks for your offer.I had the Berserker Doom. In fact, I am thinking BONE CRUSHER. Its damage is really high and str + 10.

Anyway, any suggestion on the shield?

My Advice (for what its worth)

I would change the two handed sword into a war hammer. Then pay 5 hundred to change it to a one hander down the track. The difference bewteen blocking with a shield and parry and blocking with a 2 hander and bushido is negliagble, so essentially the shield is for stats boost. So you can hold out with a two hander and 120 bushido until you save your pennies for the 500eds.

War hammer has crushing blow and whirlwind, both great specials for melee fighting. It is also a mace fighting weapon so you get the 24 bonus for angelic faith.

In terms of shield depends what route you are going. GOC and Ravnos are probably the best in game. You could also relayer a weapon to get a better shield but thats gunna set you back another 500 eds

item type change = 200 (no specials 100 off!? [lol] )
2 hand to 1 hand = 500
remove arty tag = 200

thats just what i picked up from reading, tho.

hehehe let's make this easier he wants to change a darken sky into a maul (which is normally a 1 handed weapon). it would cost you 200 eds. He wants to use the maul with a shield and angelic form. all he wants is an weapon change.


but... I think thewatcher has the right idea. war hammer's are one of the best mace fighting items in the game. the down side... it's costly to do so from a darken sky. would eventually cost you 700 eds to do so. If your gonna re-layer a weapon into a shield i would go all out and use a titan hammer or something that comes with str over 10.
