how to kill umms with mules?

i had my pets (mules) in fel and ran into some umms.
i killed 2 fairly easy.
the 3rd however, not go down, at all.
i had 5 mules on him and he was taking no damage at all, nore iwas the umm doing much damage to the mules.

i finally had to use some kind of claric spell to kill him.
what do you do if you run into a bunch of umms. the fight would go on for ever.
plus i was shooting arrows and hitting him with a sword and still he took no damage.
what works best on umms?

3 to 4 lightings (4th circle magery spell) should be enought for one.

First two you probably killed that easy since your pets still had some mana left ?

when i lored my pets, they were full of mana.

my guess is the first two umms you told your mules 'all kill'. the third one they just responded and attacked from guarding you (since you said they had full mana).

Difference is that 'all kill' will make the mules cast magery spells (primarily ebolt and lightning in the case of umms). 'all guard' merely makes the mules run up and melee attack the creature. Since Umms can only be harmed by energy spells you have to tell them to all kill in order to be able to harm the umms
