True, one sample size isn't something to be set in stone, however, I was checking consistently for over 8 weeks and I never had a perfect harvest so it DOES suggest something doesn't it?
no.

no.
Well, of course it does. It suggests that they checked consistently for over 8 weeks and never had a perfect harvest :P

After reading Cygnus's post last week I switched to the 2 Agility potions instead of 1 and have seen a marked improvement in the production of honey not so much the wax.
I think it's a given now, getting 2-3 hives out of 24 skipping a production day, but other than that, all good.

My thanks to Cygnus and all.

Just a FYI for all
For Thriving 100k colony hives
1 agility = 10 wax 30 honey
2 agility = 13 wax 40 honey

that would equate to approximately 2k gold more per day for 1 more potion consumed.

Some more data:

low sample size so it means nothing... but perhaps interesting to someone

over a week, harvesting approximately the same day/time

38 hives
2 agility, 0 str, 0 heal, required cure/poison each day
7 days

harvest:
2119 raw wax (theoretical max = 13*7*38 = 3458) = 61.2%
2179 honey (theoretical max = (40*7*38)/3 = 3546) = 61.4%

2119 raw wax produced 1911 pure wax = 90% (was doing 255 at a time)
= $1,676,900

not that much more than 25 hives...

Sorry to hijack the topic for a sec, but I noticed that ppl use either none or only one Greater Strength potions, instead of the two suggested by the Wiki. What difference does it make?* Any?

*Except gold spent for regs to make GS pots.

The point of GS is to maintain hive health at "thriving," and I find that one GS is good enough. With no GS I used to get hives randomly dropping to "healthy" much more often.

As for the ideal number of hives, I had 24 for hundreds of days, then recently dropped four to see what would happen. I didn't keep any records, but I did noticeably better with 24 than with 20, so I added the four back.

I found this very interesting to read. What is a hex formation? Do you (or anyone else) have a picture or drawing of it?

Hi Everyone :) I'm not sure why it works for me, but I don't use GS anymore at all. My hives are always thriving but I usually always have to apply 1 of each of all the others & of course the 2 GA's. Other then that they are always thriving, unless I accidentally miss a day :(
Thanks!

Anyone considered influence of walls on quantity of failures?
If I place 24 beehives in one room, and 24 in another?
Or on another floors?

Considering that it counts your beehives by your account and not where they are located...
