My first week

Post by Bambi »

Not sure where the best place to post this would be, but here seemed most appropriate. (it could be long and rambling, had a few ales...)

I haven't played UO for about 11 or 12 years, I used to play a LOT on the old UK shards, when you had to pay per minute for dial-up, so it was an expensive game :)
Anyway I saw a link to a free shard somewhere, probably FB, and gave it a go, lasted about an hour as it was full of PK kids. I tried half a dozen other shards, running newer version than here, and to be honest they were all pretty pants. I found you guys thru your advert on one of the shard voting sites and was reluctant to give it a go due to the download, but I am glad I did.

My first day here I was helped out by a couple of people, cheers Banana, who gave me lots of nice toys, and the guy I cant remember who res'd my llama :)

One thing that maybe should be mentioned on the wiki is that there are very limited resources on the NPC vendors, don't get me wrong I love this, teaches you to be self sufficient, but I spent hours looking for a saw to cut up my logs ;-) This made me a GM tinker, and GM miner and also forced me to learn Razor macros.
I think I have over 2000 skill points now and hopefully 100 in healing and stealing by the end of tonight thanks to razor.
I have a 'things to do' list about a mile long, druid spells? chivalry? necromancy? all new to me since I last play UO, not to mention pet breeding! Shame you cant cross breed species, could be interesting :)

It amazing how much of this game you remember after a decade, it all comes flooding back, well when I say flooding its more of a trickle...
Thanks to the guys who maintain this server, I played about with Sphere (I think) way back and it was a pain in the **** to get 1 town populated let alone a whole shard, donation sent.. :P

Finally any guilds out there with lots of people online between 20:00 and 23:00 server time who would take an old UK player drop me a PM.

My congratulations!
I'll play 4 day on this server before, about 8 years ago, played on another Run UO server and no samurai we did not have, because much I do not understand. Plus I don't speak English and it complicates my perception of the game world.
But from the first minutes of the game server seemed to me very interesting, as well as on the first day I was confronted with care and respect of the other players, and I liked it very much. I am here to play and I try every day to vote for this server.
Enjoy the game!
I apologize for my English, I do not know this language and I have to resort to the help of an interpreter.
