Because by the end of 6 months you have your core 220 dex gear which has replaced the bulk of your mistvale gear anyway.

Re: Planned ED price increases and changes in 2023
What can i say, think people often looking at this from direction which shows what you lost, not what you recieved. So have no doubt, that disappearing mistvale gear is better than no mistvale gear. It greatly reduces time needed to get your first relayer, especially if you play solo . And this unclimbable mountain, stays much less steep.
Re: Planned ED price increases and changes in 2023
this is why i had the suggestion of some armour inbetween mistvale/goc and relayers
armour leveling deeds
it doesnt have to go to level 100
but 30 or 40 levels might be nice (to help maintain those bonus stats or resists/regens whatever, when the mistvale gear becomes un-usable
also regarding containers
all containers used to have a limit of 125 items (this was before specialised woods, i dont know what it was after that)
but if a container was secured in your house it did not have a weight limit you could go past 425 stones
regardless of the type of container
but you dont have that option here you HAVE to use a chest or wooden box
one of the reasons people like to use the backpacks is because the inside gump size is larger you can space the items out a bit more

Re: Planned ED price increases and changes in 2023
This is the armor set between Mistvale and GOC/Relayers: https://www.uoex.net/wiki/220_Dex_Guide
That's true of all non-crafted containers. Containers crafted of high-end wood can even go to 130 items.
I admit that if it were me, crafted containers would start with a higher item count than they do and high-end high-carpentry containers would go well past the item limit you get from a cheap provisioner-bought box. But it isn't some big impediment to the game.
That's true of all containers except backpacks. Backpacks are limited to 400 stone.
Re: Planned ED price increases and changes in 2023
ahh its 400 stone on backpacks, i thought it was 425, my bad
yeah the containers thing isnt much of an issue, you just have to have another room of wooden chests, its no real biggie
and you can really only display 2 chests inside of 1 chest,
backpacks take up alot less pixels when they are closed, but more pixels when opened
i could easily have all my regs magery/necro along with all my inscription gear now i have to space it out a bit more
so some of my chests will never even see their item limit purely due to available pixel space

Re: Planned ED price increases and changes in 2023
and as for the gear reply.... thats just 225 dex, doesnt say anything about any of the other stats where you get hamstrung such as faster casting/regens/resists

Re: Planned ED price increases and changes in 2023
Your question was: what's the gear set between Mistvale and GoC. The answer is: the 220 dex set. You're quite correct that it doesn't max regens, resists and so on. That's what you start to do with relayers and GoC gear. AFTER the 220 dex set. It's not an accidental part of the game.
Re: Planned ED price increases and changes in 2023
i never said anything about max regens
but some regens
you go backwards once you drop off the mistvale plateau

Re: Planned ED price increases and changes in 2023
~50ms cooldown healing is only 2 steps forward in comparison to mistvale?
.

Re: Planned ED price increases and changes in 2023
Sure, okay, but it's hard to believe how much of a difference it makes until you actually have 220 dex and a healing script. You're not quite invincible but you're a lot closer to it.
Re: Planned ED price increases and changes in 2023
doesnt make much difference when you lose enough hp to start getting killed in one hit again
Re: Planned ED price increases and changes in 2023
Getting back on topic and being a lot less antagonistic.....
Increasing the cost of ED items or (another way of looking at it) devalue the the buying power of ED, is the wrong thing to do. It is the opposite of what needs to be done. Lower the price of items that are needed to grow in the game and add more items, like deco and vanity items, to increase ED spending. Mix it up a bit. Use the ED room as a mid-tier auction substitute. Put more items in there at lower than auction prices and limited quantity to encourage spending and take some gold out of the economy.
However if the purpose of the ED room is to encourage donations then I guess it will stay as it is. People will have to pay to accelerate the normal grinding process that is UO. All we have in life to spend it time and money...UOEX will get one or the other out of me (or both).

Alibaster in game!!

Pro strat - find some good platinum leggings that can compensate for the resistances you are low on.
