Other than bee keeping, and maybe some poisons for the few who seem to use poisonable weapons, there doesn't seem to really be much use at all for alchemy. Maybe a greater cure could come in handy now and then, but what else?
How come the Conflagration and Confusion potions cannot be made on the shard? What about making healing potions a little more competitive to spell based heals? I mean a greater heal does about 25-30hp (with no enhance potions modifier)...much less than a clerical heal. After all, they can only be used what, once every 10 seconds?
What about Ninja smoke bombs? I don't see those listed on the mortar/pestle tool...
How about a mana restore potion? An int bonus potion? a defense or some other stat bonus potion? invisibility? Mining/Lumberjacking bonuses?
How about some sort creation process where you can randomly create a potion of extraordinary power at high skill levels?
There are sooooo many possibilities here and this could be such a great craft!
Could these be implemented on the shard?
Alchemy... a dead craft?
Re: Alchemy... a dead craft?
Aye, I wouldn't mind seeing a few more options with Alchemy, especially since I have umpteen-thousand Parasitic Plants and Luminescent Fungi sitting around at home.
Alchemy is a required skill for making Royal Hive gear, though, and those smoke bombs are crafted by chefs (called egg bombs). As for the mana restore potions, Ethereal Powder does that already, but maybe those could be the base ingredient for a 'full mana restore' potion or possibly even Rejuvenation Potions (for all those Diablo fans). Some more options would really be nice. Maybe even something to do with making/rerolling elixers, since we always have those few that just collect dust.
Of course, if we add goodies for Alchemy then we'll have to revamp Cooking and Inscription too.

Re: Alchemy... a dead craft?
There are actually supposed to be alchemy smoke bombs as well as cooking egg bombs, the former just don't seem to be implemented.
Re: Alchemy... a dead craft?
Can you use the cooking egg bombs to vanish with the Ninjitsu skill?
Re: Alchemy... a dead craft?
Yep, when you use it a poof of 'smoke' appears and you hide - regardless if you're being attacked or not.
