Why Captain Jack Sparrow's Cutlass is so good? For relayer?
Re: Captain Jack Sparrow's Cutlass
has extremely high damage base damage. Some people like it to relayer as well

Re: Captain Jack Sparrow's Cutlass
It is the best non-crafted/looted weapon to level and relayer, in my opinion. Counting out how many Spending Points it would take to get its current stats, I'm pretty sure it has more than any other arty (not factoring in any 'Hit' affixes or others which are worthless on a relayer).
Oh, the 19-31 base damage is also nice - more than any [non-staffer] weapon out there.

Re: Captain Jack Sparrow's Cutlass
I rl don't get.... i wouldn't pay 1 mil for it, cuz i don't think so that it is the best weapon....
Re: Captain Jack Sparrow's Cutlass
If I end up getting one lvl'd up I can show you why it is.. the key with a sparrows cutlass is like every other weapon in the game is does it fit your fighting style... and in many cases the answer is absolutely not..

Re: Captain Jack Sparrow's Cutlass

Re: Captain Jack Sparrow's Cutlass
I wouldn't proclaim it to be The Best Weapon here on Ex. Even if you were to Relayer. There are other fine weapon choices, which after re-layering, will allow your gear to fit well together.
100% physical damage is a mute point.
25% Energy Resist can be useful, but 25% resist on one item is very low to be called armor.
5 Dex is fine. Does it surpass the 8 dex cap? Then it's a very miner thing.
10% HCI is very useful.
20% Swing Speed is very good and useful.
Edit: 50% Damage Increase. Take it or leave it.
Edit: If 50% Damage Inc is attractive. Then you are right, however, as one gets better equipment, Damage Increase becomes more of a mute point. I would not advise putting spending points or any extra gold on items cause of DI.
If 25% Resist is what attracts you, there are better choices when looking to save points in Resist.
If 5 Dex attracts you, then you'll save 20 sp's. 20 spending points aren't enough to do much with.
That leaves us with 10% HCI and 20% SSI. These two combined saves you 110 spending points. (10*3sp + 20*4sp).
Doesn't this weapon's spending points add up to 255? Resist: 25*5... Dex: 5*4... HCI: 10*3... SSI: 20*4...
Where as a 3*58 weapon all points holding that of Leech's, HLD/HLA or other 3 points placeholders. Has 522 spending points already in position to be of great use. And if your looking for Relayer, there are weapons with well over 255 sp's in very useful places.
Wow what a deal !?!!
The main deal is, what are you doing with your armor and weapons? A whole lot of nothing? Are ya shooting in the dark, or from the hip?
Edit: That leaves us with base damage output of this weapon. You'll have no argument for me on that one. It's good. Will it keep ya from flatlining? if not, then swinging a couple extra hits with a different weapon is no biggie.

Re: Captain Jack Sparrow's Cutlass
i just like it as a novelty item.
gonna level it to 100 just for kicks. RAWR
personally there are better items. bone crusher for one is like a titan hammer still at 10 str a very good weapon. also, 75 di on bone crusher.
also, jacks cutlass gets as many points per level as a looted item.

Re: Captain Jack Sparrow's Cutlass
I think you can pull the highest DPS out of this cutlass after leveling. I mean there is plenty of usefull stats on other weapons, but if we looking for pure dmg, this is the best choise.
Correct me if i'm wrong.
