Cannot log in, 'Connection Lost'

I've been playing UO for years now and this one has me stumped.
Tried searching the boards to see if anyone else had this issue, so i'm sorry if this issue has been cleared up in an earlier post that i overlooked.
I get all the way to selecting my character, and then the second before it switches from the client window to the game play window a box comes up and says Connection Lost. Even though a get a message in the bottom left saying Login confirm to Excelsior.
I have been able to log in with this character within the last 48 hours at least and i'm pretty sure was at my house near mook town.

Here's what I've tried:
-put the uo files (hues, gumps, art, statics, etc.) back in the uo file instead of customs for the shard
-tried both port 2593 and 60
-a few different client versions 5.x.x, and low 6.x.x
-a different character on my account that i've been able to log in with before
-reset my connection (i use dialup, so i disconnected and reconnected)
-i am able to log into another private server (after trying all of the above)

Any other ideas/help would be appreciated. Thank you.

This is probably due to the new update that prevents you from logging into a character if you have one in Felucca. I'd say check the other characters on your account and if any are in Felucca, either delete them or move 'em to another facet.
