Ok seriously??

Post by Athena »

I got jailed for 72 hours!!! last night for going afk in a dungeon....which was completely by accident I have a 2yr old dughter and anyone who has children can know how that is, and i had to tend to her needs and forgot to log out....as i tryed to explain this to +rayne but that didnt matter i guess and then i asked her why i got such a long amount of time considering someone who was cussing got less time then me and on the rules page it says i should have only gotten a warning and i should still have the resources i was collecting which were confiscated in to which rayne responded "I can change the rules as i see fit" which really thats not right and definatly not fair to others who may have only gotten warnings and it also said i was being jailed because i was keeping others from killing spawn and i wasnt i was sharing them and the others didnt seem to mind. But anyways after having this conversation with rayne she lowered my time to one day but still didnt return the resources i had been colecting for 3 days......what do you think?

I think you should take the punishment on the chin it has been delt, deal with it... if you are doing something and you are fully aware you might get pulled away from your computer at any given time, then choose something which wouldnt get you punished for while AFK its simple, By making this thread you are just going to cause a stir. I have a kid I have to pull away from the computer, I have never broken a rule. Why should it be different for you?

i dont know what your trying to prove by saying that, but yea I wasnt fully aware of it like you said as i specifically posted i forgot to log out and i normally do go elsewhere when i go afk i usually go to my house before doing that i think a simple mistake shouldn't have been so severly punished....

All I am saying is you should have kept this between you and Rayne, you clearly did do something wrong if she gave you a punishment then revised it and you were still under punishment... staff do not punish unless they have cause too

So the stance is that Rayne jailed you for absolutely nothing? Come on now... ;)

I know I haven't been on the staff for a long time, but I know Rayne wouldn't jail someone without a reason (contrary to some people's notion of "injustice").

I realize that sometimes, things happen. You need to drop things and attend to something or someone, that's fine. However, it is still the responsibility of players to follow the rules of the shard. Our rules are there for a reason, and we enforce them without prejudice. We look out for our fellow shard members and tend to their impact on the shard and it's community, just as much as their needs.

I hope you are not discouraged by this encounter and wish that you continue enjoying your stay at Excelsior.

All that would prove is your AFK, and more than likely holding a levelable weapon by the sounds of things...

First of all i never said i didnt do anything at all wrong all i said was that i was punished pretty harshly when i beleive i should have gotten a warning and i think there was some prejudice there because of the rules here

http://www.uoex.net/codex/penalties

All that would prove is your AFK, and more than likely holding a levelable weapon by the sounds of things...
i did state that i was afk didnnt i and no thats not all that it would provem it proves that i wasnt profiting while afk and no im a mage i use a spellbook that doesnt level up....

but anyways its seems everyone isnt getting the point just coming up with other possible reason or explainations to why i got in trouble the point is i dont think its fair of the way i was punished is all why would i lie about loot or any of that stuff i dont like the way i am being portrayed as a greedy theif and a liar 2 of the three things i hate the most i only started this thread to ask of peoples opinion if i should have been given a second chance or not.......

You started this thread in the hope people would take your side, quite clearly you are trying to talk your way out.
Tell the truth.

example:
Athena wrote:then i asked her why i got such a long amount of time considering someone who was cussing got less time then me and on the rules page it says i should have only gotten a warning and i should still have the resources i was collecting which were confiscated
But yet you insist you were doing nothing wrong while you were AFK, when you had stated in your first post you were upset at not getting your resources back that you were gathering, If you wanted to discuss this thread at least state what you were doing at the time, mining/Killing for organics etc.... instead off crashing in here stating you have been harshly treated when clearly you are not beinng 100% here.

How you have gone about all off this was uncalled for, or at least you shouldnt have posted so hot headed

Why have staff, if in the end everyone demands my full attention of the problem?

I did look into the matter to make sure the penalty is just. We've found out that this AFK surely wasn't the first time as players who were there tried to talk to you and you weren't there, but just standing still for hours with pets out. It was treated as 2nd offense.

I understand that having a child can distract you from gaming, not just from time to time, but even many a day. But you have to plan ahead, and not start a game if you know there's a good chance you'll have to go away from a computer (or perhaps do something that you know you can put on a pause very quickly, or something that doesn't have a no-afk rule).
