Is it the current position of Admin that any player may be placed in jail at any time or for any reason with no explanation given for punishment?
Offical Response to Kile Morgan:

This is not true whatsoever. We do not jail or ban anyone without reason and that reason is thuroughly made clear. Because certain information is kept private, I won't disclose to you exactly why he was jailed. However, I will assure you that there was a reason.

I thought I would not post any more because I felt it useless to at least at this time because any suggestion I made was not what was responded to. What was responded to was a question of position on staff on this jailing. A response that is not the same as what is quoted above and did not answer my question. I am glad you now include an answer but would it not have been better to have responded to my response instead? Where I again asked the same question instead of editing this one and making my response seem less a question and more what I wished to avoid, hounding you over and over. Also nowhere did I ask why he was jailed, to state it here or anywhere else to the public or anything else but what staff policy currently was in regards to this sort of thing in a normal situation. Unless I am the one jailed I have no need to know why a person is jailed. Except perhaps to in some way to be informed on what not to do before a fix for a exploit can be crafted. I will say the situation that caused the described jailing is more or less public knowledge now for those that were on the shard in that time frame. It has been mentioned both in and out of the game and other then the obvious reason stated above my response to fingers that to me his restating it again meant to me he was still upset about it. Obviously my outlining his problem and asking for clarification in this atmosphere was not the best because I think you took it as not a simple question but another attack. I do wonder if asking for a clarification from staff on this sort of question will now ever be acceptable. I know when I first got here and asked a clarification on a different rule between the written and stated rule be cleared was not greeted like this. I will assume it is not the case and go from that point. I am however going to delete if possible the first response to your first statement as your edit no longer requires it.
I'm sorry, I could not follow anything that you said.

He said...

It doesn't matter why he fingers was jailed, unless it's some rule he doesn't know about. All he wanted to know was if it was common to be jailed for no reason then left there for a length of time. And to some degree wonders why people are getting snappy when he's asking a fairly simple(but ridiculously long worded) question.

Then please allow me to try again +Rayne.

I did not then or now wish to try and discuss or ask about the why of the jailing. I simply wanted to know if current policy was to jail without reason stated to the jailed was the current policy. That was all I ever asked. The first response you gave me was only to say it had never happened and not to answer the question. I also said that had you simply given the answer that you edited into your response the first time I would not have then wasted time or space in asking the question yet again.

As it being long winded. I tend to do that when I do not go through and proof and cut it down, also I thought by doing so I would stand a better chance of it being seen as only a question and not any form of attack. For that I will say I am sorry.

That should be both short and answer the question.

Blaze, I only asked again because when she first responded it did not include the answer you quote. If either it had or I had waited longer to go reading then there would not have been any other posts from me about it, Her post in reply, Hara's kind translation, or you pointing out what by then was the answer. People are people.
[EDIT] there, I've removed them.

Perhaps if I drank more I'd drone on less.....

Weapon Leveling! Please bring it back!

Post by Electra »

Weapon Leveling
The removal (changes)of weapon leveling has been one of the only things that I totally object to being changed. I used to use all kinds of weapon types and used to put leveling deeds on them. But now the levels take such a long time to gain by pure melee only, it really took the fun out of hunting for me! The dynamics of the game and my guild have been drastically altered due to this change. I used to group hunt just to level my weapon. I used to tour people and take them to spawns daily and now I don’t because I have no real reason to go anymore. At least before I was rewarded by leveling my weapon while I teach the noobs and my guild how to do champs. I also don’t buy and sell leveled weapons anymore because the market has been destroyed. I don’t melee much and use magic and pets for 90 precent of the battles. Please bring back some leveling for us tamer/mages:)

good point... in a different perspective, One person told me (about 7 months give or take) told me, that this server will slowly spiral down, and also said to look for signs... im beginning to see em

gotta becareful on what the staffers touch (or the ones that have authority), it can be the very next step to making the vets quit one by one... an that is the honest truth...

I hate being Devil's Advocate all the time, but here is a little thought...

If I recall a discussion a while back I had with Colibri, (might have been Rayne) the original intention was never to have weapons that you have to hit monsters with to level, be leveled with spells. However, I can see the annoyance that comes with change. So, with that said...I would support a system that is based on more experience points obtained by meleeing a monster without spells that is based on token reward.

I kinda think the removal of spells as a leveling method was good, since people cannot macro spam trees and VE to level their weapons anymore. Also, got to take the good with the bad. We can now layer change, so really...you can customize anything you want via the use of levelable weapons. So naturally, that kind of power warrants some degree of difficulty.

party pooper #2.

I disagree that it's just so much harder to level. i gained like... 5 levels in a total of maybe 1.5 hours of game time. so its possible you just gotta find the best monsters to kill. although area spells were super easy and lovable i still can be objective and see why its not allowed now.

love,
Llexa

oh yeah, and the shard is going down hill, lol. thats a bunch of bologna. there's no 'signs'. this shard has been around for years and will be as long as colibri is alive im sure. every shard goes through points of weeding. things have to be updated and changed and people who dont like it will leave. people who do will stay around and bring their friends around. its a never ending cycle of flushing and filling, lol. thinking we are spiraling down b/c some things were changed is just.. like saying the world is going down hill b/c we have to use our hands to eat and the food won't just enter our mouths if we meditate. there is too much awesomeness here and people recognize it.

man i just cant get all my thoughts out at once today, lol. just finishing by saying that UT i am not saying YOU came up with this concept that the shard is spiraling down, but just addressing the actual concept... this isnt an attack on any persons.

I have to agree with Electra. I am a tamer/mage and I have never even *tried* to level a weapon. It's just too daunting a task. It would be more fun if I could level a weapon, as I would love to see it change as I add attributes to it, but alas, I have never gotten past level 5 lol.

Topic merged witn an existing one on the same subject.

As already written, you can be a tamer or a mage or a warrior. If you choose to level your weapon, you have to level your weapon. Not just equip the weapon and go on by your daily routine and expect it to gain.

I think it's already written in here somewhere, that if you do some damage with your weapon, and some with pets or spells, then you still get the proper percentage of the points. So you don't have to do it all with your weapon, but the more damage you do like this then the more your weapon will gain.

There's an addon planned that will nicely increase the strength of those who choose to go around with a weapon alone, but i cannot say more at this time.
