Desktop shortcut not working

I got referred to this shard by a person that I played UO with about 5 years ago. I downloaded the patch from your home page and for one night the desktop shortcut worked but the next time I tried to get on an error occurred and it started searching for the client.exe and afterword said the shortcut was not valid and deleted it. Now I can't get into the shard at all. I am not all that computer savvy so any help would help me greatly.

I am not sure where you installed your client files, but here is something you can do. Assuming you have a Windows based machine: Go to the start menu, click search. Look for a folder called "Ultima Online - Excelsior Shard". When you find this folder, double click it and look for a file called "client.exe". Right click that file and select "Create Shortcut. When you do this, it should make a shortcut named "Shortcut to client.exe" that has the same icon as the client.exe file. Click and drag that file to your desktop and double click it. If that doesn't work, post again.

I tried what you suggested and for some reason the computer is showing no folders whatsoever with Ultima online in the name. I guess I will try and install it again and see what happens.
