30 here, I just started with the online gaming thing last year...Played WOW then LOTR and then UO the end of last year. Have to say that UO and this shard is great, and for the most part really do not have any complaints. The wifey "Gem" is shall we say "slightly" older, (I am going to get shot lol), I know is no newb to UO or online gaming for that matter, she used to be a GM on a older shard as well. 34 here, 35 at the end of september... been playing UO since pre-open beta... yea i'm a WAY old schooler and expereinced along with many others all the really retarded changes they made to OSI... i quit about 3 years ago for no real reason other then i was in a guild that decided drama was a fun thing to infest everyone with very happy to call Excelsior home

30 here! Started playing UO about 10 years ago. Had a server I helped to run for about 2 years and then quit when it lapsed. I must say UO is very addicting!

I'm 26, and played on OSI from 1997-1999. I was on Hokuto, because I like to meet people who aren't American. I dealt with the lag in order to meet some really nice people, and actually had a bit of online romance at the time. I played every day for those 2 years, and then quit shortly after Trammel came out (and sold my tower on the road east out of Britain for almost $1000 on eBay ). After UO, I got into Asheron's Call for a long time (also an excellent game, which I miss my old friends from), and then Anarchy Online, and then played online FPSs up to the current date (mostly Day of Defeat, which I still play regularly). I tried a few free MMOs like Rappelz, that kind of thing....but never really found another game like UO or AC that I wanted to stick with. So, on a whim, I downloaded a client for this server from demonoid (thanks to whoever posted that), and here I am

IDOCs were a riot, all the grabbin' and the laggin' ... and that reminds me of my brother's story of the first day of Tram, when he'd scouted out the perfect spot for his large plaster house, had the deed all ready, called in sick for work so he could camp it out all night, and then when the moment came he completely lagged out. He had to sit there frozen and watch as someone else wandered by and took his spot. It still chokes him up, all these years later.

That night was crazy for me too...it's how I got my tower just outside of Britain. I remember the tons and tons of people just waiting...and I was sure I wouldn't get the spot I wanted, but I didn't care....so when I heard the time was getting close (this is before I had UOAssist or anything) I sat there for over an hour using the deed and clicking the spot...and then there was a huge lag, and I saw houses and stuff appear, and a tower appear there...and from where I had been clicking I didn't think it was mine...and then I double-clicked the sign and screamed

I am 45. I played pre Tram for nearly a month on OSI, it was hell trying to mine in those days, you mined in a death robe, and leapfrogged the ore to the forge, refined it, then hid, and stealthed from there... I think, in that first month, I managed to mine almost 800 Ingots... and died about as many times. I was no PVPer, and still am not, i wouldnt let my son play, though he often begged, then when tram came out, I relented, and we played up until whenever the power scrolls came out... I fought for a legendary smithing scroll half heartedly for about a month... I was pretty angry with OSI at the time, I worked hard to GM my smith and miner, and I was pretty peeved that they ruined him, and made me have to re max him again. No one wanted a grandmaster smith anymore .. Up until then, my son and i ran a vendor mall, we did a lot of hunting and fishing, we bought houses, including one castle that i sold on e-bay for 300 dollars. Eventually my father also joined us, and my daughter. I had close to 180 mil in gold when i closed my account and had made over two grand on e-bay.
i have played a lot of games, and usually quit them all for the same reasons, I worked my characters hard to make them the best at what they did, and it never failed, that whatever game i was playing, nerfed them in one way or another.
I've been on Ex for about seven months now, and its not looking like any major nerfs are inbound, so I'll probably hang out for quite a while

I am 34, I played betta OSI then on a few diffrent shards. was in a guild named wicked clowns. Our colors where purple and green. We where pvp and would even kill eachother and steal from everyone even friends. mostly for pratice.

I once camped a castle for 4 days to catch the owner opening the door. stole his key coppied it and gave it back. I looted his castle 4 times always leaving a rune to my guilds town so he could try to come get his gear back. I quit after Karma was introduced.

I played uo untill just after planes of power. and still play in a good guild in WOW on Deathwing. ( come say hi to my Troll Mage named Othose.)

I found myself wantign to play UO and am glad to find this shard such a cool place to play.
