Eww, Internet Explorer - jeez just how many browser toolbars does one need? :P

While I had a similar problem, my error message was quite different. It was informing me that I needed to install .NET Framework, version 2.0. I already had 1.1 and it was (obviously) working fine for me with the previous Razor, but I (somewhat) happily humored it.

After installing the newer version everything is working properly, I'd say try the same and see if it does for you.

There are four updates to apply after installing .net 3.5 as well -- some of these may be critical. There's a reference to three of them via the .net 3.5 download page (for 2.0, 3.0, and 3.5). Then soon after I did this I got prompted to update for .net 1.0.

The old Razor required .NET v1.1, this new one needs 2.0 as well - I suppose it can't hurt (knock on wood) to install 3.0 and 3.5 too, maybe those will fix it.

For some reason when I try to update to the 3.5 the install fails. I've tried numerous times and I don't know what the problem is! Any one have any ideas? Can anyone make it into a torrent? Is there a way to manually download and apply 3.5?

Also, I wiped the computer today, completely, and razor is still giving me that second error I posted. -Ashlee

Fiacha's roommate (Kaiana) has gotten her Razor to work by running the Old Updater. Reinstall Razor then go to its directory, delete (or rename) the Updater.exe, look for Updater.exe.old and get rid of the '.old' part. Run that and cross your fingers..

I only have the updater.exe. I don't see any other updater in there, and that one just gave me the same error as the second error I have been getting, except it says updater.exe instead of razor.exe. -Ashlee

I downloaded the full package and then did this set of updates manually.

Thanks Tael! I ended up reformatting with my laptop disks (no the desk top thinks its a lap top or a toaster or something) and 3.5 finally worked. Now Im off to do the other updates! -Ashlee
