Re: UPAM
There is no real need to download the files as uoam uses the data files from your uo installation. If the file from the custom client wont work (dont see why they wont. work fine for me), then just copy them off a cd if you have it. Sometimes when i have this problem its just because uoam is looking at the wrong world map, eg: I would be in Tokuno yet uoam is on the Malas map. To check if this is the problem just click on 'map' at the top and then go down to 'world' and see which map is selected, and change it if need be.

Re: UPAM
Mine acts like all the files are there, it just cant figure out where my character is on the map, It puts me in at a point where server lines cross and it never moves, it even shows other ppl south of me even tho they are too far away to see.
Re: UPAM
I have made some progress, now I have location labels on the map and my character and as I move around I can see my character move but other than labels (like Provisoner Shop) the map is black.I stil don't see buildings or roads etc.
Re: UPAM
If you have the problem where UOAM doesn't show your current location, i think i solved that in the past by installing Razor, then it started to move again.
The problem where all the map is black (but it does show the locations such as shops) then you probably skipped through the map-rendering process at the start. I dont have UOAM installed right now so you can either try searching around the top menus where it is that you can re-draw the maps, or actually i think it gives you that option when you start UOAM. It takes a minute or two, requires some waiting but it's essential so that it converts the map files into actual images that can then be displayed in UOAM.

Re: UPAM
One of the menus at the top has a selection (I'll check once UOAM is downloaded on this computer) that lets you choose where the program looks for the UO Data folder(s).
This usually fixes the problem and is similar to the Razor 'cliloc' error, because the registry files that say where UO is installed don't exist.

Re: UPAM
I have Razor installed, it was after that that I got the labels to show. I checked out UOAM and can not find a link that allows the maps to be rendered. I have used UOAM in the past and I recall it would update the maps but I can't find it now.
Re: UPAM
BLaZe you are the "MAN", I found the file location window, copyed and pasted the UOEX client file path and "BANG" the map is there!!!!!
Thanks you so much, I have been messing with this for 2 days.
And thanks Colibri, and the others that responded. I really think I will enjoy being a member of this community.

Re: UPAM
Not a problem, glad to help.
Oh and to those others suffering the same problem: click on 'Map', then 'UO client data files location' and direct it to where UO is installed. You'll need Razor running and working as well, if that gives you a 'cliloc' error then do the same thing with the 'Browse' button under 'UO Data Directory (I think is the name)'.

Re: UPAM
Well, its still got me stumped. When checking file locations, I found that the excelsior download had actually installed in 2 separate places. Removed on of the files fired it up and uoam actually picked up my correct location on the map, but it wouldn't follow me when I moved. So I went ahead and linked to our uoam server and now its back to showing me at a corner of where 4 maps meet and I havent been able to get it to change, even when breaking the connection to the uoam server. Razor does show me at the correct location tho.

Woohoo! finally got it working, ended up deleting all of the .map files after uninstalling uoam (had tried just reinstalling earlier)
and is finally working and tracking.
