I could be wrong, (not unusual) but when pressed for an immediate answer, your brain wil kick in to what it has been programmed over the years. When you have learned abour colors starting from your early childhood, you learned about primary colors Red, Green ad Blue. If you learned about the color scale or color spectrum, the first color is red. It would be understandable why red would pop into your brain first. As far as tools are concerned, if you hadn't wielded a tool lately, the most common tool for most common people would be a hammer or perhaps a screwdriver. Hence, a red hammer wouldn't be too far of a stretch for anyone to come up with when pressed for an answer. Of course, if you deal with colors a lot (artist for example) or with tools (mechanic or handyman)you probably had a better chance to come up with a different answer. Now, as far as whether it's 98% or 2% I sincerely doubt that those percentages are accurate. I think they say that 80% of the statiticians say that 90% of statistics are wrong 50% of the time. or something like that. Anyway, I hope I didn't ruin this for anyone. I was reading this at work and had a few minutes to kill. By the way, isn't it true that 2% of the people waste 98% of their time at work reading forums?
