Talking of lady mel, I beleive that there is some kind of AI that makes her hit quite more when any players are there. Sometimes, i kill her quite easily with my 6 nobles, hardly having to heal them, and some other times, all my nobles get wtfpowned before I can do something about it. I beleive that if someone is hidden afk, camping mel, the difficulty of the task of kiling her is multiplied by two or three. Can Colibri confirm if there is such coding or if it is just my imagination?

PS. If it is not my imagination and that the coding makes it really harder when several players are present, can you guys please avoid to go hidden there?

I haven't seen any difficulty upgrade based on the number of players present at Mel, but have noticed a random "Super" Mel spawning that is just as you describe. It also varies on how many Satyrs she spawns each round also. I've killed her before with spawning a single one and other times she summons an army of them. Sadly, I've not noticed any improved loot based on the difficulty of her or with the number of Satyrs summoned.

There is not meant to be an increase in loot for those that spawn in a difficult form. You may think of it as, for those that spawn in the "easy" form, you are recieving a lucky bounty that is truly worthy of the "difficult" form.

I don't do much of this but the true sense of a quest requires you to go... ON A QUEST, and not on a shopping spree. You got my vote +Rayne. :P

Well imprisoned pets are already available from more than 1 source. Lady Mel drops squirrels, Shimmering E. drops ferrets and something else drops the dogs. (never got a dog) Also Slaalion drops portal maps that let you buy squirrels or ferrets for 500 elven notes. Plus people do sell them if they have more than they need. I don't think limiting people to 1 gem of completion a week would be so bad. No clue how difficult the coding would be to accomplish it. If people want to buy a gem of completion vice doing the quest and someone wants to sell theirs then I am all for it. I bought my first gem. I only started seriously pursuing the quest about half way though December of 2009. I had the advantage of having pretty good gear and pets when I started of course. I am more than willing to give a mini tour of any of the 6 peerless areas to anyone that needs it. I had help navigating them myself.

Just for the sake of arguing with myself... Since changing the way the items dropped might disrupt alot of play here, cause arguments about how it should be implemented, and most importantly cause a huge headache to staff to try and recode the whole thing, Perhaps a better idea would be to look ahead to new quest content, that would be earned, not bought, and be very desirable to do so..i.e. on par with the mage inquisition armor. Maybe perhaps Fighter gear quest?

Way to hijack your own thread Rue...
Sorry, i can't help myself.

However the idea of spreading the loot out in the peerless IS a good idea. For example the Chief in Paro. seems to give very little good loot other than a nice amount of gold. I also advocate making all 6 peerless areas drop ointments. That's another reason Blighted Grove is camped is you can get ointments there and you cant in Bedlam for example. But all in all I think the peerless areas are a great challenge for the shards players.

I will consider making some adjustments to the Mage's Inquisition. I will need to go over the entire thing and see if there is a somewhat simple way for me to incorporate some of these ideas. Some are not far off from what my own thoughts have been. I will keep you all posted on any possible updates.

I believe I may not have worded that properly. I wish there were more creatures of Lady Mel's caliber. She is a hoot to kill solo with no pets, but is not insta death like with the Ice wyrm, Ruby Dragon or Paroxysmus. The loot is nice, but is secondary to the battle for me. I like to be challenged, but like the possibility of claiming victory without dying countless times to a single fireball.

I am glad that you enjoy the fight with miss Melisande. I infact had to modify her a bit, as the original version created an incomprehendable amount of Satyr.
